Thanks for the great tutorial! For the part near 9:00 when Grant is moving, scaling and rotating tiles, you can transform multiple tiles at once according to each of their respective origin point (and not according to the selected group median origin) by selecting "individual origins" in the pivot point menu, which is a the top-center of the viewport next to the little magnet button. Makes the thing a little bit faster + useful for the future.

- copyright strike for a different software TUTORIAL for FREE (with the FREE software) - people are just too spicy nowadays....
@typingcat5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, then again I went to his channel and saw the video (at least for the first few minutes). Unless most people are creating a 3D well like that, the procedures were too identical, so if he had came with the idea, this person at least should have given some acknowledgement to his work (for example, saying something like "This Blender tutorial is inspired by a Maya tutorial I saw on ___'s channel."). People can get ideas from other people and ameliorate them (I think this person's tutorial is better because his tutorial was just showing the screen without any explanation), and that is how our cultures have been evolved, but I think proper attribution is required.

@Sojouner Beveling low poly bricks is a pretty normal process for low poly. I used his idea with the bend modifier for the base I dont remember the other parts of his tutorial as it was a while ago i watched it. If you look at my references at the beginning you can see how i ended up with something very similar. It was not my intention. I am not using this as a portfolio piece or saying look at my work isn't it great. I am offering a guide to people and trying to inform people about modelling and i would say my style is very different to Iris's. I have spoken to Iris, mentioned his work, which i think is excellent, and recommend his site so I am happy that all is fine and will take more care not to end up with such similar results to other people in future.

I really respect you for how you handled the Copyright situation. I would have handled it very differently. There are many obvious similarities between your video and theirs, but there are also many many differences. For one, this tutorial being voiced and paced differently. The software is different. The presentation is different. I totally understand that he might be angry or annoyed, perhaps because you even did it better than he did. But he in no way shape or form had the right to submit a Copyright strike against you. This is a complete and blatant disregard for how the Copyright system works. If he felt there was an issue he simply needed to discuss it with you. It is disgusting that someone would add to the problems that already exist with the Copyright system on KZbin. Shame on him for doing this. I really love your videos and you have a great way of designing your tutorials to not just teach us how to make something, but introducing us to the tools themselves so that we can eventually make our own assets.

My work around was to duplicate the lattice, then the tiles. I rotated them and then relinked them with Control P

your explanations are simple and on point. love it. only thing: it more easier, if you alway show, instead of shortcuts, where the commands in the interface are located. that would teach us to look for or own, if we dont remember the shortcuts

YEs I don that in my more beginner tutorials but that's a good point

When i tried to copy the roof tiles, the wooden construction also copied over and over, i think when making a new entity you have to make a collection for the old object. Else everything you do to the new object also changes the last object you worked on. Ok Collections didn't do it, I have to go back to the first tutorial, the stone part does stay separate from the wooden part for some reason.
