@wquon2007 The SBA is pretty specific about how their grants are to be used. Are you looking for a grant for a certain type of business? Maybe I can find a link for you.

My for-profit business markets an educational textbook, I want to receive a state or city grant to provide this book to needy people. Is this possible, if so, how do I find such a grant?
@grantchatter2 жыл бұрын
@EducationMediaSourcing I watched your video to see what the book is about, which is a lot! You can actually market it to and/or collaborate with multiple organizations, such as those I’ve listed here, which means I’m giving you a research assignment! Examples of markets/partners: your statewide homeschool org, your nearest city workforce development agency, any agency or nonprofit that addresses high school equivalency, nearest community college, and/or afterschool orgs like Boys/Girls Club or the YMCA (STEM is a big topic there). You might need to partner with one or more of these nonprofits at the local level on a grant opportunity (nonprofits are often the preferred applicant, but a for-profit can be involved). Also, for the many topics your book covers(!), you’ll need sets of metrics to gauge where people start with your service, and then how to gauge their growth in the topics once they’ve finished an area of study. You can find local nonprofits at greatnonprofits.org/ Let me know if this helps.

@@grantchatter Wow! I wasn't expecting such a thorough response. I appreciate you watching the promo before consulting. Your response is in line with my current marketing strategy. The possibility of getting a grant directly was something I wanted to explore. It would be preferable to be in control of how the funds are spent. But I can see where there could be some self-dealing concerns. As far as the book, it's designed to be a broad catch all to help a wide spectrum of people. Some may say the book isn't focused, but there's always tradeoffs. The book is living so there are lots of opportunities for metrics and evolution in the form of subsequent volumes. But at some point, I needed to land the plane and put the book on the market. Your response helped a lot, I would like to pick your brain as challenges come up in the future. Thanks again.

I’m trying to start up a business providing hair cuts for my special needs community! I am looking for any start up grants.. any help is appreciated 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@grantchatter2 жыл бұрын
@JoiHeminger Thanks for your question! I googled "grants for hair stylists" (I hope that was phrased correctly). I found two articles that are a lot to read through, but they look like they might provide help (I get no promo fee from them). Also, my video on the Small Business Administration includes links to free business mentoring, including mentoring by women in business for women in business. Here are the three links: salonbusinessboss.com/we-answer-can-i-get-a-business-grant-for-my-salon/, www.beautyschools.org/students/grants-scholarships/, kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4m3maKXfd2psNE

Any grant for minority woman owned business for startups?
@grantchatter3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your question! I have a 2-part answer for you: (1) I searched online and found two links regarding women-owned biz and minority-owned biz. Mostly advice and help, maybe some grant dollars: mbda.gov/mbda-programs and sba.gov/local-assistance/resource-partners/womens-business-centers (2) I'm working now on the next video in the "Who Gets Grants" playlist, and it's grants for individuals, incl. minority women. I work full-time writing grants, and then do all the work myself on each video (research, script, film, edit) after work. I'm loving it! But it will be maybe three more weeks before the next video is out. Again, thank you, and all the best for success!
