Great video Grant, I can see my backhand swing feels way better. In your Forehand 5 Mistakes video you demonstrated how to use the Eastern grip. In this great backhand video here I see you gave us a quick view of the left hand on the racquet when you show us the one handed (left) practice drill. But is this grip also an eastern grip? It looks a bit continental for me, and practicing on the court I can't decide whether my left hand should be in a continental grip, or an eastern grip, for the backhand. Any thoughts to help me Grant?

Awesome videos, you are a great teacher. I cannot close the strings on the backhand, what are your grips on each hand? Thank you

10:27 I’d say 10 percent of the time I can really make the ball ‘bite’ my racket and it sends the ball fast with a lot of downward motion into the court. Other times I feel like I’m really pushing the ball. A lot of the 2hbh seems to be timing.

Hi, great video. Can you make a special video on a weight shift, leg drive and hip rotation in two-handed backhand? It is really something where I struggle in my two-handed backhand and there are no specific videos on this topic in youtube. Thanks a lot and all the best in new year

Good vid and examples indeed but one thing that should be explained initially is the grip and positioning of both hands on the racquet to produce the ATP backhand.....without this all of these great tips become void.

Объективно - хорошо! Обрати внимание на постановку левой опорной ноги. Лучше её развернуть до 45°, чтобы избежать нагрузки на коленный сустав. Objectively - good! Pay attention to the position of the left supporting leg. It is better to turn it up to 45 ° to avoid stress on the knee joint.

At the point of impact in front of the body, the racquet face is perpendicular and exposes the maximum face area (strings) to the ball. So max power and min chances of mishitting. Is that right coach?

Question for the dominant arm and dominant arm, do both index fingers have a seperation from the 3rd digit or you want your dominant hand fingers to all be bunched together and only the left hand 2nd finger be separated?
@GrantVanderHayden
@GrantVanderHayden 2 жыл бұрын
The dominant arm's fingers can be clumped together at the bottom - however the non-dominant arm should have that index raised higher! Does that help?

so i tried the grip he showed and there's no way in hell i can extend my finger if i have my other hand on the grip. My left index finger is completely past the grip when my left hand is butt up against my right and the right is all the way at the bottom of the handle...if i put my finger up at all it's going to be on the part where the racquet handle splits.

Thanks for posting, it reminds me of a cricket batsman's technique to hit over the bowler, only applied to your opposite hand. That would be my own trick to remember your steps
