I like them together. It's so much more interesting and a bit impressionistic. The color of the vase with the Iris looks metallic or really nicely glazed pottery.

Absolutely love the granulating colors! Your flowers are gorgeous and the pots came out beautiful. I personally love working with granulating paints, some of my favorite projects have been from using the granulating water color pigments. Thank you for this lovely tutorial. Your playful teaching is what makes you so wonderful to watch. Plus you have a soothing voice. 😊

I love granulating colours as they remind me of Autumn and Winter, which are my favourite times of the year. 😊 The colours you used for the vases looks like a glaze I've seen on cups before. 😊

I love these paints Emma! These are both so stunning paintings and I love the effect. I think the second painting at ~ 18:18 was the perfect spot - so beautiful and somehow delicate despite the granulation - think the unique properties of these of these paints were are their peak at this stage for me 😊

I thought it was an awesome color. If you look on your Napkin or paper towel you pressed your brush on you could see the blue coming out. The Iris was awesome so were the other flowers and the vases!! The dry brush really helped. You would have to use a really light touch for those colors to come out though. I think that would be kinda hard to do?? I don't know?? Your the expert. Lolololol 😊. Emma whatever you paint it's always great looking 👌. JK FLORIDA USA 🇺🇸.

Pan pastels. I know this is off topic, but have you ever used pan pastels with your watercolor? I never knew about them until a tutorial yesterday. Very interested in your opinion. Thanks.

Do you have a source image to refer to or have you just painted those particular flowers so many times you just whip it out? I will admit I bought those same paints, took one look at them, and said YUCK! Mine must be ruined! I never bothered to swatch them 😂😂😂
@gopipavi965313 күн бұрын
Flowers are mostly soft in texture. So you should choose transparent colours to glaze or layer, retaining the softness. Also, you will use soft papers like hot press (details) or cold press (loose) . Whereas, for landscapes, illustrations etc are textured. Hence you use rough or 640 gsm paper. Similarly, for skin and fur, thick paper, opaque colours and for feathers and florals, soft 300 gsm papers can be chosen. Granulating colours are often textural and therefore, they work well for textual subjects such as landscapes, animals, still life etc. You will have fun if you choose the right combination of subject- paper- paint.

We all know art is subjective. Use your own materials however you see fit. There are no rules saying you cannot use granulating colors in florals. Personally, I love granulating colors and it was nice to see it used in florals. Something different!! Thank you Emma for sharing. I have had these same paints for a while, haven’t used them much, but now feel inspired to do so.
