I've just painted a reasonably close copy of this scene, and am pleased with the result. Thanks.

Thank you for this tutorial. I just bought some cheap materials from temu as I am just starting to do watercolour painting to help with my mental health. I am a healthcare worker and ever since Covid, I felt like I never recovered not from the sickness but from what we have witnessed and experienced. It's like having trauma, burnout, and anxiety all mixed together at the same time. I can't explain it. I just started few days ago, it helped me relax, redirected my mind to focus on painting rather than my anxiety and stress. Thank you so very much for this. Looking forward for more tutorials! Lots of love! ❤

I'm not a painter, but I can really see the value of painting the same scene a couple of times, not just for practice, but to loosen up the creative juices and openly embrace the fact that every painting is different, even using the same reference photo. In other words, not letting the painting sense your fear! Very cool tutorial. It's tempting me to give it a try, myself. I have some watercolor pencils I've never used.

Absolutely!! Practice is so important and it’s fun to see how different each painting turns out even using the same reference photo! I do hope you give it a try!

Bonjour, Astonished, passionate about drawing, then watercolor, considering myself as an eternal beginner, I followed step by step your tutorial, realizing it after, getting in the end almost the same thing, except for some details not having your experience. However, I must congratulate you for the quality of your tutorial, which ended with a subscription on my part, an exploration of your videos, generating lots of projects that I did not think I could realize. A big thank you

@hannahartandprints28 күн бұрын
Thanks! The reference is definitely a photo, if you look at it on unsplash it’s from a photographer and you can see the camera information. If you’re talking about the painting in the top page of my sketchbook, that was my practice painting before filming the lesson!

Great demo thanks. But what type of brush, tension etc, is the Joy brush, what alternative can we use?
@CarlaSophie6629 күн бұрын
Hi Hannah, I just painted this picture as the first page in my very first sketchbook and am super thrilled and proud how it turned out 😍 Your tutorials are so good and I've learned so much from you already, following you for a few weeks now on Tiktok. I also used your Artistro colors which I LOVE. I was just wondering, is the sketchbook that you used hot-pressed? The water looks so incredibly still in this painting, in mine you can see the texture of the paper quite strongly (it's cold-pressed) 😐
@hannahartandprints29 күн бұрын
Thank you so much!! So glad you enjoyed the tutorial! This sketchbook is cold-pressed, but it does have a little less texture than other cold pressed paper I’ve used, and I’m finding I do get those really smooth paint applications in it! So it just depends on the paper really, and you can experiment with different types to find what you like best!

How in the world do you keep the paper from buckling?
@hannahartandprintsАй бұрын
Having higher quality paper helps a lot, and it’ll still buckle a bit but usually flattens back out once it’s dry!
