I love box packaging because everything feels protected and i like magnet (bts be) over slip covers (rv day 1) Envelope/paper/bag packaging are my least favorite for sure but I also dislike thin book/magazine style (twice fancy) simply because they feel unprotected and, again, most have slip covers lol. I only spend money on one group but albums like woodz's or a.c.e's sometimes make me wanna break that rule even if i don't stan bc their stuff looks like pure art

i absolutely HATE packaging which has those kinds of bags and the stickers sealing them up. wonho's love synonym album is probably my least favourite packaging of the year since it had a super flimsy bag which arrived all creased for me and then the booklet/poster/other inclusions were just loose in there too. love your videos though, thanks for the insight!

I love this vid! Butterfly phantasy actually got me into A.C.E. and I found an ULT group in them. Also the Taemin cover does give a Ravenstag vibe which brings back all the Hannibal memories!

The albums you talked about are so creative and diverse! My favourites are probably Han Seungwoo's and Woodz ^^ they look so colourful and sturdy! Baekhyun's album is beautiful too, I love the magazine feel and I want to buy it one day! I agree so much on Seventeen's Heng:garae;; I honestly regret buying all versions because even though the pictures are nice, the awful packaging ruins it for me :"( I'm so glad you made this kind of video again, I really enjoy them!

ah, finally! i was looking forward to this video! it's really nice to watch and see how a graphic designer sees their own albums! not a taemin fan but his album is definitely one of my faves this year because it screams good graphic design. the serif typography is immaculate plus the overall visual congruence of the images....yup yup. I love these type of videos, i hope you can continue on making more of these in the near future

Idk if this is weird to say, but one of the first things that I noticed when I first watched one of your videos was how soothing your voice was to listen to. So this kind of video is just perfect for me, it’s so relaxing to watch, plus I really love kpop album packaging as well:) Sometimes I even start stanning a group or artist because of their packaging? Like, the packaging of their album is what initially draws me to them(as was the case with woodz) so I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if I end up stanning all the artists in this video. I’m already super tempted lol

It can be something that draws you to an artist and makes you want to check out their music! I've even had that happen with books (even tho they say not to judge a book by it's cover LOL)

I agree with your picks! I love Act 1 as well, but I think the overall design for Act 2 I like a bit more. Embossing, even subtle, always elevates things to me. The MX one definitely looks luxe, I love the black and gold. I usually like darks (that's why my shelves and furniture are black) but I have been on a holo kick lately. Fatal Love looks pretty to me, too. But the kihno kit for FL has that dark elegance that Fantasia X had, so I like it, too. I bought the Cinnamon version of Baekhyun's album, because it was purple with a slight holo cover. But the photography is really dark inside...I can't see beautiful Baek as well as in the other versions. The size is tall, just like Kai's latest album and NCT "T" version of Neo Zone, but they fit! They do remind me of high fashion magazines. I love SVT, they are my top 5 favorite groups...but I'm sorry, this packaging was not it. I'm pretty simple; I like hard cover "books" as albums. Box or slip cover is ok, too. Like I prefer EXO SC's 1 Billion Views packaging over last year's bag one. I'd also like to add Suho's Self Portrait album as one I liked from this year...the hard cover is nice, as well as the tabs inside. Got7's DYE has a pretty style as well. I don't buy a lot of gg albums (except my top 2), but I couldn't pass up Twice's retro version for Eyes Wide Open. It's a hard cover book with a fabric binding, and the photography is all mid century themed. Love it! Blackpink also has that pink holo box packaging, with the glossy black panels. It looks really pretty on the shelf, and it'll look even better on a white one I think.

The ACE album is so so beautiful, it looks almost like an old korean book, when I saw it I was like, I wish I stan ace so I could have the album, unfortunately my ears don't vibe with their music, I did like the favorite boys title track but that's all. 😔

lolol i knew henggare was gonna be it but i also agree! bts/seventeen are my top two ults but the henggare and mots7 albums (packaging wise) were my least favorite of this year ahhhhh i think my favs definitely include taemin’s ngda act2 and txt’s blue hour

yeahhh it sucks when your fave artists don't come out with album design that you really enjoy, but again, that doesn't mean the music was bad haha! it's just unfortunate that the presentation / execution of the album design wasn't great :(

I feel like you might like JUS2’s Focus album (specifically the black and white version) since it fits many of your criteria of a good album packaging. I don’t know if you’ve seen it or if you own it 😅
