Wonderf tutorial darling. I was having a phone meeting with Space NK the other day and your name came up. We were talking about makeup artists that truly are wonderful people and your name kept coming up again and again with such high praise not only for your skill but for how lovely you were :) Just wanted you to know :) x

Lisa Eldridge Lisa, I am a newly aspiring makeup artist and you teach me so much! You are so amazing!!
@sharlynnng422310 жыл бұрын
Great job Lisa! Thank you so much for using this lovely model! Try to ignore the ridiculous comments about this being "for asian eyes", it's so much easier to adapt a look from monolids to double lids than the other way around. You just need to adjust how far up you bring the black liner so it looks smooth from the front! I wish people would think of these things before commenting otherwise!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for using an Asian model with hooded eyes/monolids for this tutorial. I'm Chinese with very similar eyelids, and it's frustratingly difficult--even nowadays, despite the internet being an easily accessible resource of seemingly infinite information--to find beauty tutorials, tips/tricks, etc. for such an eye type. You make this dramatic look (as well as every other look) seem so easy to achieve, and I look forward to applying your technique to my own eyes!

UPDATE: I still suck with my technique, but I still use your tips, lol

I like the gentle calm manner you use around your models, that's unusual. It's also refreshing that you don't do a hard sell on products like many other make-up artists do - usually their own! That puts me right off. Beautiful work Lisa.

I love this video. I love the retro look - my wardrobe reflects it, but I guess I thought I was limited to it makeup wise due to my hooded eyes (and Asian features); This is the first video I've seen using it on a non-Caucasian person. Thank you Lisa for "thinking outside of the box" and teaching us about makeup's endless possibilities.

You have NO idea how ecstatic I am that you decided to do a tutorial for this look! I saw it on your Instagram, fell head-over-heels for it and asked for a tutorial, but I didn't think you would do one because I thought most people wouldn't be interested since it's not a "natural" look. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This look just makes me happy by simply looking at it and just thank you for making videos in general!

P.S. I realize it's a relatively "simple" look and concept ~glares at a certain someone~, but it's just soooo refreshing to see and watch applied for some reason.

I am only 28 but I have the deepest hooded eyes I have ever seen, due to bone structure I think. Big fat folds, lashes that hit the brow bone, you name it I got it. Never in a million years could I apply, or even adapt this beautiful look on me. Loved the video Lisa, and love your work, hope you don't ever stop making videos, even when I can't agree that this is suitable for all eye shapes.
