Take a look at “rackable” servers, they had the I/O at the front of the case too, they were made that way so you could mount servers in the front and back of the rack, they’re also really short depth, great for wall mount racks

It is clearly aimed at smaller companies and production houses and not data centers. Personally I prefer my cables to run in the back of the rack and connect up to the KVM switch if the machine doesn't come with a out of band management (preferable LOM) interface. Wonder if there's a remote management card available for this puppy.

This looks like a great server for a science work, we do 3D reconstructions from a 2D projections of proteins. We use kinda similar setup but in a "normal" gaming case. I'd like to see how this compares to the one we have. There are benchmark files in the software we use if you are interested to check.

Smart. Short circuit can both compete in the "let's do it quickly as it happens" market, but also work as official teasers to LTT-long productions - and also bode well with more "chill" personalities from other LTT staff (Notably, Alex and Anthony). Really an amazingly sinergetic channel.

Well, 360mm radiator is as descriptive as a 10km long city..... A triple 120mm is a better explanation to me, though should say "fans". A 360 radiator can be 360mm wide and long, effectively needing 3x3 = 9 120mm fans... So both him and you are kind of wrong..... though both makes sense at the same time. None of it would pass in a technical document of any sort though......

That dual board GPU was the 9800GX2, the first card to play Crysis at Ultra. I still have one and with the water block which I custom ordered from Germany. With a 27% overclock it would compete with GTX 280. Amazing card. Just had to watch the 30amp draw which many PSUs at the time didn’t actually deliver cleanly.

Interested in the temps vs a 4u with the same setup. Plenty of 8+ slot rack servers available now with dual redundant 1600w psus. Looks like a 3u so there’s that. Also lots of water cooling madness. Admittedly it’s likely to be quieter than a system relying entirely on fans... but it still has 3 fans so... also RM likely means rack mount so surprised you were surprised. Lol.

it's not just 3 fans cooling this whole thing, it's 6. the power supplies should also be intakes, that's why the fans are so far away from the radiator.

3 120 hyperdense rad at 3000rpm is going to do a lot of cooling. It's going to sound like a jet engine at idle on the runway, but that's a shitload of airflow considering those fans do 64lpm airflow at 1200rpm if I remember correctly. You basically have 450lpm in cooling. As long as it's in an adjacent server room or closet and you dont have to sit right next to it you'll be fine.

Nuckling futs! Wow, thioos thing looks sick AF! I love when companies get creative and think outside of the box! And damn, Koolance, I remember those guys, their Exos cooling product was my first ever liquid cooler, must've been way back in 2004 maybe, wasn't quite and AIO, coz you had to buy the correct water block for your CPU and cut/connect all the pipes, and fill the reservoir yourself, but it also wasn't a full on custom liquid solution. It saw and AMD and Intel build. I've been liquid cooling ever since.

The way I see it is that they have 6 fans pulling air through the radiator. The 3 fans that are blowing across the Motherboard and 3 PSU fans exhausting out the back. That is probably why they went with 3 PSUs instead of 1; they can get a lot more air through the radiator and thus better water cooling. I really like that idea, but it would be difficult to get right. The GPUs would not have been able to go in the back with this design.

A few questions: Can you exchange the PSUs while it is running? Can you use professional graphic cards because consumer cards don't sum up their memory? Can you exchange those cards while it is running? What to do when the water cooling starts dripping due to the 24/7 usage? Can you exchange memory while it is running? And what's about the network connections? QSFP possible? What about airflow? Rack mounted hardware must have front to back airflow or your air conditioning will not work properly ...
