He would stand up straight when facing opponents, he would cross his legs, he would expose his back to his opponents... and yet he dominated. He was a genius technician and tactician. Actually his brother was better than him, Buvaisar said it himself and is kinda sad that his brother isn’t the one who has won 3 olympic gold medals since he was better than him, and the best wrestler he has ever seen in his yes, his brother went through some hard stuff, military, health ( spinal injury during his prime which led to a 5 years retirement ), death of her mom, so he couldn’t train or wrestle at tournaments as he wished Also I wouldn’t say he is « not too bad » he won the gold medal at the 2000 olympics, 2 times world gold, 4 times european gold.

Он услышал свисток об окончании, но был не свисток арбитра и расслабился, выпрямился, а в этот момент соперник, который проигрывал по ходу встречи, схватил и провёл прием и уложил на туше, и после прозвучал свисток судьи!!!! Hold your horses, kids. Satiev no doubt is the "goat" of freestyle wrestling, however, his weaknesses were blast doubles and gut wrenches. Slay, watching film on Satiev, saw that he rarely if ever lost scrambles, and the rare times he was taken down was from doubles. Both of these were Slays strong points in which he beats him to even get to the quarters in the Olympics. And Burroughs? That man was on another planet in his prime regarding double legs. At that level with Satiev, Sidakov and Burroughs, imo, the matches are, or would be so close any of them could have beaten each other on a given day. These men are at the top of the top of the top.

@@Tdinh79 That's funny. Slay couldn't win even against Leipold, who lost many times to Saitiev. Yes, Leipold was doped, but doping doesn't give you technique. In terms of technique, Slay could not demonstrate anything to Leipold and lost the final of the Olympic Games. Saitiev's opponent in the final of the 2008 Olympic Games also turned out to be under doping, but even at the age of 34 Saitiev beat him. Saitiev simply underestimated Slay because since until 2000 no one even knew who Slay was. Saitiev would have won Slay 9/10.

They master all knowledge and then see where the discipline can go and show us all what is possible and to us mere mortals it appears they have created a new and beautiful language. All the other champion wrestlers could barely conceive what he was showing them. It wasn’t athleticism Sateiv was one of the greatest artists of his generation across any discipline. It's not only talent and creativity. Saytievs coach Mindiashvili invented so called scientific approach based on mathematics using which it's almost impossible to lose. In other words if one fulfills assignments according to those formulas the victory is guaranteed.
