Criminally underrated: Nakamura brothers

The Nakamura brothers are one of the most successful Judo siblings of all time. All three brothers have become World champions in their respective weight categories. Moreover, Kenzo won Olympic gold medal, while Yukimasa was runner up. Yoshio was a 2-time, Yukimasa 6-time and Kenzo 5-time Japanese champion. All three brothers had an exciting attacking style of Judo as well as very dangerous ground skills. Yoshio (the oldest brother) was a great allrounder, Yukimasa (the middle one) had phenomenal tachi waza, while Kenzo (the youngest one) was brilliant at ne waza. Their personal and collective achievements grant them an honorable place in Judo history.

In judo, several other pairs of brothers have become world champions(Sonoda brothers, Ueno sisters, Abe sibilings). The Sonoda brothers coached Tawara(the slang name for Ryōko Tani) when she was a teenager. Incidentally, the Nakamura brothers and Tawara are from the same dōjō. There must be many cases of brothers and sisters becoming world champions in other sports as well. Recently, the Kawai sisters won the wrestling competition at the Tokyo Olympics together. However, I think it's rare to see a case like the Nakamura brothers where all three of them became world champions. In boxing, the three Kameda brothers also all became world champions, though. That said, they and their notorious dad are loathed by many and ain't regarded as legitimate world champions. Due to a number of DQN(meaning crude, vulgar and insane) attitudes by them and questionable performances in a number of bouts. They seem to be boxers on the opposite side of Naoya Inoue, who is currently ranked Number 2 in the PFP ranking. On the other hand, no one would probably question the outstanding performances of the three Nakamura brothers.

There is a famous story between Kenzo Nakamura and Roger Gracie Newaza randori in Budokwai which was a legendary fight on its own, although it was a randori. The result was not revealed by those present.
