In the early 4 links setup for Ancestral Totem, do you prioritize heavy swing first before supercritical or not ? I'm around lvl 52 and just trying to put my sunder online. Thank you in advance for your answer, been loving the build in HC. Keep it up

Depends if I'm using Brutality or not. If I have lots of sources of random elemental damage (like on rings, gloves, etc.) and I decide not to use Brutality, then I'll go super critical. Secondly, it depends on how fast you're managing to break armour with resonating shield. If you're always instantly breaking shield, then Super Critical is great, if it takes time to break, or you're not always popping it instantly, then Heavy Swing is pretty strong, as your non crits hit way harder. Just try both and see which feels better though :P

Hey, cool build and cool video. I have a question. I upgraded my Warchief Totem to 5 support slots, the first slot is clear, Sunder, but what would you consider the "final" support gem combination? ATM i use Heavy Swing, Super critical, concentrated effect and Brutality .Best regards =)

Ancestral Urgency, Ironwood, persistence, splinter, martial tempo, etc. whatever you feel is missing or can afford mana on. Can also do something like font of rage, since when you have rage, it translates to totem damage too (that would be a “more” multiplier).

Mace aftershock chance nodes are insane for sunder totems, you should consider taking it

Very interesting Build. Might try it out as well. Right now im playing Archmage Stormweaver. The damage is insane, but it is impossible to survive for me. I wonder if there is a certain build, that would be hardcore-viable. Would love to know what you think about that!

Well I’d say mine is viable for sure, since it worked for me and I got to top of ladder with it. As for achmage, just have to give up some dps and go deeper into survivability, I’m sure it can be made to work.

Depends on weapon you find. If you get a good +melee 1h, no need. Also keeping resistances close to capped is super important, and can be hard to do without a shield

Blood magic can technically work, although I had success just splitting the cost 50/50 between them. Just have to see how fast you can regain the hp if you go all in blood magic, as mana costs get quite high once you get to very high +melee gem levels.

I believe explosion scales off the physical damage, which we really don’t have much of, we use the fact that totems have their own weapons to bipass that tedious gearing requirement, and instead scale gem level. But try it, and let me know, maybe it works!

First, great guide. I tried it out. Got + melee weapon and gloves (couldn't get Amulet). By the middle of act 2 the totems were just doing terrible DPS to certain bosses and also can't tell what boss attacks can be blocked and what can't (the fire lady in maldun mines - even with 50% fire resist and block, she melted me in 2 seconds). Don't get me wrong, learning curve - but even using Resonating Shield to break armor, bosses are just SLOW and dangerous (not knowing what to block or not). I've played all other classes (this is my first Warrior) and the damage is like 50% or less of what other classes can dish out at this point. Yes, I kept the gem level maxed out the whole time. I can tell from gameplay it can get stronger, but minions are just so much better (and tankier).

Hey Moofy. This build doesn't come online until around level 55+. You should not be using Resonating shield at all until that point. The entire function of resonating shield is to break armour to proc Sunder, which is not a skill you can use until you get Ancestral Warrior Totem. While you're leveling with Shockwave Totems, you're better off going a 2h, or dual 1h maces, and just using something like earthquake if you want to add damage.

It scales with gem level. If you were to say giants blood with +7 on a 2h, it would be insanely high armour break.

Try adding bleed as another way to scale damage. It's pretty nice with the guaranteed Sunder crit, especially since there is quite a lot of damage downtime on bosses

The only downside that I don't really like about totems is that the higher the gem level is, the higher the mana cost. I mean A LOT. It's difficult to try and sustain your mana and to get mana roll into your gear. When you try to re-spec into blood magic, almost half of your life is gone just by placing totems

That's why I pick up the mana nodes on the start of the Warrior tree, they make a HUGE difference, and split the cost 50/50 between mana and HP.

I'm running 60% block and the shield bash for 100% block chance from the front. Gain 6 mana every block. It's noticeable and I will try and push for higher chance soon. I'm thinking of picking up the mana nodes you mentioned also.

Level 35 Ancestral Warrior Totem costs 662 mana to casts. The dmg would be insane, but so the mana / health costs.

That is true. But at that point, we have it being half mana half life 330 each, then we have reductions to mana cost as well. If we min maxed all the way to 35, there are changes one can make.
