I loved this talk. And I totally agree with most of the points here. One thing I would like to add is I hope GGG does not turn POE2 into POE 1.5, yes POE1 players should be heard (I am one with 3k+ hours played) but they should with the knowledge that this is a new game, it's not reskin POE1. It's not the case of saying "Go back to POE1", but if you want POE1 experience, you have POE1. POE2 is a new game.

As a PoE 1 enjoyer and Souls fan I am really loving PoE 2, I prefer the challenge. The thing about PoE1 that I love is the sheer diversity of different and viable end game builds, you can take almost any of the games hundreds of skills and make them work if you are creative and you can curate your end game experience how you want. PoE 1 is truly a very special game and PoE 2 is setting the foundation to be even better and I am all for it.

I think one thing that would fix the trial of the Sekhema is to make it so that the Sacred Water vendor is there after every single room. That way you always have the opportunity to remove debuffs, buy boons or restore honor. Maybe make a limit of one purchase per room. That way there's always a way to save a run and melee playstyles have a safety net for tanking more attacks than ranged classes. Also, blocking SHOULD prevent losing Honor.
@yournamethere123Күн бұрын
Ruri is one of the first KZbinrs I remember watching. Taught me how to tank back in wotlk and I took that knowledge to become a high end raid tank for many years, just found tri in the hype leading to poe 2. Never thought this would happen 😂

I think a training room where you are free to change your currently earned points and skills around to see how they function would be amazing. After your test you can commit to your changes and spend your taxes for making the changes. Having to pay for that up front just to find out it doesn’t work, then paying to change it back is way too expensive.

@@rurikhan That Game Awards voting video was rather sour and contrarian.🤷♂ Besides that I don't see it much on this channel. As an Insect Glaive main I really appreciate you championing how Capcom clearly dropped the ball there and appreciate that input as 100% necessary, not negative. Maybe they caught your other podcast with that anti-woke co-host and his angry/sad parrot vibe. Getting through that wall to realize you are still being your rational self there too and not just also feeding into the grifter garbage swamp the other guy seems to exclusively dwell in may have been missed and ended up leaving the wrong overall impression? Regardless, Tri is a damn beam of sunshine hitting a windowsill pie and I do agree his positivity is rather heartening.

Ruri I've been a fan for a long time like 7 years my dude, so I say this from a place of love. But most of Gaming KZbin is doom and gloom lately. Every Khans anvil feels like a bitch fest. As a queer person im definitely starting to notice some red flags in how you talk about "woke", DEI, or LGBTQ representation in gaming. So far you haven't came outright and said it but listening to how you talk about "modern games" (on youtube that term is usually a dog whistle) but that stuff is just giving red flag warnings. Just please dont turn into another soldier in the right wing grifting culture war. I love you bro. it really seemed that after D4 something in your attitide changed. @rurikhan

@relicshadow9875 yeah I wasn’t super happy about that video myself, I privated it since then, it just really rubbed me the wrong way people started crapping all over sote. As for Mythic Banter, two things, I love Accolonn, he’s a good friend and we often disagree on a lot of topics, and I like to see it as two opposite sides being able to disagree without it devolving into internet mudslinging, I hope one day more people would look at it and find we all have a lot more in common with our fellow gamers across the board than we have differences. I know it’s a long shot, but it’s still fun, and I like having my positions challenged, if they don’t hold up under scrutiny I should rethink them.

@deadcaptainjames6045 sorry you feel that way, I don’t try to make Khan’s Anvils into negativity, but I will rail on Ubisoft and Blizzard because I believe we must. They are brutally anti-consumer companies that deserve the flak. As for the DEI stuff, don’t often talk about it, and when I talk about modern gaming I’m usually referring to MTX practices, unethical Early Access or other slops. And if I do bring up DEI or ESG it’s often to point out examples where I believe representation has been done forcefully and poorly which is more often than not pointed out by LGBTQ members in my audience. (Like veilguard’s bharv nonsense)

21:20 That's such a wholesome and W take to make as a youtuber, really important of you to make such statements. Part of the reason people are like that is because the internet is toxic, and PoE2 has some online game feelings to it. So people see other on the internet constantly making bombastic builds and numbers, while others keep insulting anyone they see, so people are playing this game under some sort of pressure. It's important for youtubers to slow down sometimes and make such statements, because sometimes this feels like a competition, and the actual truth is it's a game for people to enjoy at their own pace.

I really enjoy Tri's content. He takes the time to explain the game to "casuals" which is all I am. I only have an hour or two a couple of days a week to play. So his content has been very useful. I broke my Lvl 17 Witch in the manor! Somehow all my spirit disappeared!😢 No matter what I do with my gear, I can't have more than 30 spirit, which is what I got from the King in the Mists. Could be a bug, I've reported it. So, I started another witch because I want to finish the campaign (Acts 1-3) with a witch before I build a new character. 😅

Great convo and great message. Give POE2 time and serious consideration! POE2, like POE, and the game that got me through the pandemic, Grim Dawn, is meant to be played long term. This is definitively not a Diablo alternative. It's a 1000+ hour game and its trying to do something different with the ARPG Genre, critique it on it's own terms. Kahn's Kast is always a great place for a real conversation about a game. Ruri and other CC's have always been there to help me see the value in a game I might otherwise give up on, and honestly, after creating and supporting a like minded community, is there a better service a CC could provide? Thanks Ruri! Shields up Iron Breakers.
@m9l5t118 сағат бұрын
What an enjoyable conversation to watch. Diablo II is still my all-time favorite game but if they improve upon the base they have here they have a chance at dethroning D2 in my eyes. D2, Elden Ring, and now POE2 have been the only games in my 32 years on earth that I've willinging stayed up wayyy too late playing. Never played Diablo 3 and Diablo 4 was such a dissapointment IMHO. This is the true successor I've been waiting for of D2 for over 20 years. It's not perfect but GGG has a good track record unlike most game companies and I'm super excited for what the future has in store for this game.

There is a reason they are nerfing OP moves/exploits left and right, they don't want players zooming all across the map clearing mobs mindlessly and one-shotting all bosses and ignoring all the mechanics. Also I did remember finding gear with Chaos resist, it was only 9% but they do exist.

So just to correct people on the whole "buying higher level skill gems" thing, they all have level requirements, so you can't skip from a level 1 gem to a level 20. For example, I have several level 14 gems from my Ranger, but when I go to use one of them on my level 5 Warrior the game flat out won't let will whether it's an uncut or cut skill gem. What I will say though is it looks like support gems don't have a level requirement at all, so that might factor into this argument, I don't know.

@kilodiСағат бұрын
2 things that I think Kripp got right in his review, Skill gems should have their own leveling system which rises as your use them like POE1, this let's it grind to get better even if the build is not that great and you can over power yourself to play harder content. Seems like GGG wanted to make a "souls like" instead of a "diablo like" seeing how important roll is i don't want to be one shot if my build is tanky, its an ARPG it should be around my character building skills not how quick I can roll.

I beat Elden Ring because it allowed me to farm XP in easier areas. It took me 170 hours to beat it, but I did. PoE 2 I am stuck on the boss in Act 2, and my only choice for XP farming is the Dreadnought because they gate how much xp you earn in areas lower than 3 levels below you. PoE 2 feels more difficult to me for that reason. I had more hope in Elden ring. I died 20 times to Melania and 50 to the final double boss fight, but it felt more rewarding and like a skill issue. The act 2 boss in POE 2 doesn't feel like a skill issue when my player does almost no damage and I would need to farm a not fun zone in the Dreadnought to try to gain more power. I am now starting on my 3rd character and following a build guide that a lot of people said works for them. Fingers crossed.

the problem with the trials is, that its not optional. they are great as an endgame mechanic for those who want to engage with them. just give us ascendancy points after the act bosses. they are challanging enough and it does not lock you out of progression. adjusting those mechanics just for the fact that everyone has to do them once also could take away from the potential of those mechanics... again.. just dont lock ascendancys behind it. on ranger it was easy as hell on meele its basically impossible if not overleveling...

I I like PoE2 campaign, but the end game is pretty bad. 1)There is no chill gameplay in PoE2 so I won't play this game the same amount of hours I can play PoE1. I won't turn my PC on to play PoE2 after work, because I don't want to feel pressured and stressed out.. 2)I want my character to feel powerful and strong when I reach the endgame, but instead I have to be super careful and it brings only stress. Any monster can kill you, and some combination of rare monsters (like Hasted + Mana Syphoner) are just too strong. 3)1 death per map is too punishing, I paid for 6 portals, why can't I use them? My opinion: I would like to see the difficulty in endgame be shifted from regular monsters to bosses, so I can run maps without issues.
@puxtbuck673119 сағат бұрын
I've gone through the campaign with Monk and Ranger, and neither were all that difficult to me. I don't think I died more than three times to a single boss. And I never played POE 1 so idk why people think it's so hard. Like are people dying for hours on bosses? I feel like these people are just doing something wrong like not upgrading their gear enough. I just don't think it's anything like Dark Souls or anything.

So just have my hex witch knight just sitting in act 2 with her fingers crossed. Maybe the templar abilities will have some unholy/death paladin stuff as well. Without having to go into the templar ascendancy. Since I need blood mage for my vampire roleplay lol. What's the point of this freedom if I can't melee/mage hybrid and still be viable late game.

The only that is truly terrible is the Trials imo, everything else is great. Numbers need some tweaking here and there, but overall it's amazing. The nice thing about PoE2 is that it's complex but intuitive. "I'm using Lightning, I should look for Lightning nodes." You can respec, though it gets a bit costly, it's an option. PoE1 got so complex and bloated that trying to do that basically never worked. Turns out the skill you picked got super nerfed and sucks. Also you can't really respec significantly.

From someone at endgame who knows how to make builds. Defensive investment beyond life and res on gear is a waste. You can decide for yourself if that's what you like. Passive tree build design is easy because there's not much life, res or movement speed on it. So it's just a matter of what offensive nodes you want. No defense or all defense the only difference is time to kill.
