Hi everyone! Below is a copy of the original comment that helped my fix the issue with the silage additive, let me know if you need any more help with how to implement it! This will be the last episode for a couple days as I will be taking some time off to spend time with family over Christmas, but I will be back in full force in a couple days, SUPER excited to buy the homestead and start working on that! Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays to everyone, thanks for watching and all the support, see you again soon! Huge thanks to @brandonreaman1430 for the advice on fixing the silage wagon, here is that comment: I found the bug making your forage wagon silage additive not work the .xml file is missing a line. Farming Simulator 25\data\vehicles\poettinger\bossAlpin251\bossAlpin251.xml Line 405. Line 406. Line 407.

Little tip for unloading the forage wagon in the pit is to use cruise control set to a very low speed to hold a constant speed through the pit for a nice even pile.

I love this series! My only complaint is the lack of music variety. Maybe some other genres? I know that licensing and that is a real pain but nonetheless I would really love some more variety. No pressure or anything. Merry Christmas!
@syrupgames16 күн бұрын
Yeah I agree, the music is getting a little stale... So far all my music comes from the KZbin studio license-free music library, but it is pretty limited... With the growth of the channel though, I am definitely looking into getting a subscription to a proper music site like Epidemic Sound or something similar... Thanks for the feedback, glad you're enjoying the series!

I randomly saw your name and this series mentioned in someone elses video and decided to give it a go. Mate, this is really well done!! Really impressed with how its coming along, probably the best R2R ive seen, considering you’ve truly grinded it out, with no leasing/contract equipment using or mods. Keep up the good work.

Hi @syrupgames , so happy to see another video! Now you have a massive grass field, make quite a bit of cash, time to go on for bigger things. Awesome! One small note: you seem to have wasted a lot of fertiilzer at 46:13 - if I remember correctly, in the 2019 version it started to use the fertilizer or other stuff only when it got to a place where it was not added before, but now it's using it even when you just stand.. I wish I could have the hours to put into this thing myself, but I'm still slowly progressing, too. I've put the timescale to 3x right now but 10 days in a month, if I really don't have anything to do I can always just go to sleep, right?
@syrupgames16 күн бұрын
Oh yeah I definitely wasted a lot of fertilizer there.... Still gotta get used to having such a massive working width

Hi happy new year to you, nice stream again thanks, have you considered getting a silo and storing your silage because the sails will go down if that's all your selling you could be at a loss, thanks for streaming 😊
@syrupgames11 күн бұрын
Happy new year! I didn't think you could store silage in silos (at least without mods) but I will look into it. The price of silage is pretty stable though, there's usually very little difference between the highest and lowest prices, so I don't worry about timing the sales nearly as much as some other things which have large price fluctuations.
@Darksoul-e1c11 күн бұрын
@syrupgames yes I get you a normal silo you can't store silage ah if the price doesn't change much you might aswell sell it your right 😉

Since your chasing the mower now you should get the rear part of the mower. Maybe even spluge for the windrower rear mower so ypu can fill the trailer quicker and have to make less passes.

For science, perhaps you would be willing to try filling and compacting before you use the leveler. Then before leveling, note the amount of chaff in the pit and the amount after leveling. Merry Christmas, Syrup 🎄
@syrupgames16 күн бұрын
Yes, I definitely want to try that, some people have said that they lose chaff when using the leveler, so I plan to do some experimenting during the next fill. I also noticed some weird behaviour with that pit while editing one of the videos. When I opened the bunker it said it had 190K chaff, but when I added up all the trailer loads I got out of it, it totaled almost 193K chaff 🤷♂️ so I apparently got some free chaff from somewhere? Definitely needs some further testing...

I feel like you didn't fully fertilize the field for that last harvest, though I may be mistaken.
@syrupgames18 күн бұрын
Yeah I had a brain fart there, most of the field was fully fertilized because I used the roller after harvest, but I only had one fertilizer state in the plowed areas. Definitely got it fully fertilized after adding that last field though, I didn't actually have to fertilize the new field because it already had a 100% fertilizer state when I bought it

I dont understand worrying about tractor maintenance costs with 400k income a year on silage alone. And another 100k or so in passive income. Cuz at some point buying a new tractor at the same size, has to be more expensive then just maintaining a little older tractor for a longer period. But since a day in fs is a month, then I guess 50 hours is more like 5000 hours on a real life tractor. IRL I would keep it to between 5000 and 20000 hours. Maybe more depending on what usage it has gone through in its life and how good maintenance (and depreciation in price). I do understand maybe finding a better deal. That one I do get. But I am not a FS guru. I guess I may be thinking to realistic. :D
@syrupgames13 күн бұрын
Haha yeah you make some good points! I think part of it was just a bit of sticker shock from such a big jump from the repair costs of my previous tractors. And the field expansions were still pretty recent so I guess I haven't really seen the full payout from that potential silage income yet, maybe I'm still thinking I'm poorer than I am lol.

Buy the big mower and a big wind rower, or the expensive mower that windrows, painful watching you mow with a tiny deck
@syrupgames18 күн бұрын
Eh, I will upgrade the mower eventually, but the worker can already mow the field faster than I can collect it so I don't think that would really gain me much right now... I think I would upgrade the forage wagon before the mower as that seems like the biggest bottleneck right now
@chuckymystic18 күн бұрын
@@syrupgames it would help both go faster, pick up instead of having to drive down up down, it would probably just be down up since the rows are bigger. and faster worker, less cost. But I totally get wanting to spec into other crop types and a farmyard. this would just be an optimization for grass, giving you more time to focus on other things. but the ROI is long term.
@DennisMason-lf4kc18 күн бұрын
Wouldn't it be a lot easier cheaper and faster to put the mower on the front of the big tractor and the loader wagon behind it and do it with one tractor
@karthias138018 күн бұрын
It would actually take more timeor the same amount of time. Because he has to drop the mower to spread the silage so the wagon doesn’t get caught.
@hammerslap563918 күн бұрын
He actually did that for several harvests and was a massive pain
@Armstrong-Industries18 күн бұрын
It could be faster if he has a larger wagon.
@hammerslap563918 күн бұрын
@@Armstrong-Industries well yes... but either way the limiting facto is the speed of pickup. Putting the mower on another tractor and hiring a worker was out pushing the tractor with the wagon because the pickup wagon has a max speed. That means putting mower on front will not result in a faster completion. Only thing it would save is worker wages which are minimal. Also, I belive putting mower on front will use some horse power which would slow down the pickup
