Caught a 35 and a 40 pound black drum. 35 was at the mid bay and the 40 was at the Freeport bridge. They are some fun fish to catch.

I appreciate the support! It's always great to see the new generation on the water. They were very polite and I hope they have some luck catching fish!

On the last shrimp and you hook a giant! 😂 nice! I’ve been craving some inshore lately
@oafishing4 ай бұрын
That's the kind of luck I have and I'll take it haha. I'm trying to get offshore like you! Get you some of that inshore when those offshore days don't pan out.

Small trout but at least the bite was up! Just caught a 20.5 inch one around the area last week so hope you can get onto some larger ones. Sick drum!

What an awesome day! Nonstop action on the xrap, must of been so much fun. I'm hoping to get some fishing in down there this weekend
@oafishing4 ай бұрын
Yeah buddy! Thanks bro! It’s hard to put that xrap down when it’s fairly consistent with bites even though the fish aren’t always giants it’s still a blast. I hope you get on them!

This might be a dumb question…. I’ve been kayak fishing in freshwater for a few years now and want to get out in the bay. How often do you have sharks come up to your kayak? I’ve seen a video of a bull shark ramming a kayak chasing a fish and I would have shit my pants 😂😂
@oafishing3 ай бұрын
I've been kayak fishing saltwater for over 10 years and have never had a shark come up to me, that's both in the bay and the gulf.

Is 08 the size of the glass ghost? Any know?
@oafishing4 ай бұрын
Yes, that's how Rapala sizes them. They do have the sizing chart that breaks down the actual dimensions. The 08 is 3 1/4" long and weighs a 1/4 oz.

Are your hooks sharp?
@oafishing2 ай бұрын
Most of the time yes. I'll use the same hooks pretty must until they rust, bend, or I lose them.

Nice school of trout. Too bad they were on the short side. That Big Ugly though.......

I was hoping to find one or two big trout in there, but I’ll take what I can get. He was something and he fought great too. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of catching those, especially when they are jumbo like this one.
