I made my first trip to the skyway fishing pier yesterday, and your previous advice "Don't buy shrimp" was spot on. Instead I used just 6 inches of Fishbites to catch pinfish all day. Of course every big catch they got me, was quickly stolen by the dolphin. Thanks.

Is the shirt you’re wearing available on your site?
@Saltyscales6 ай бұрын
Actually, we are just about to do pre-orders for them. Are you signed up to our newsletter? We can get you on the pre-order list.

I’m already on the list. I noticed the shirt on the video, it looks similar to the raglan hoodie which I own 2 already. By far the best fishing shirt ever!!

Wish I had a fishing buddy with a boat cause 600 dollars for 4 hours of fishing is wild. Let's say that's 7 fishing trips a week, that's 15k a month for a charter boat. Maybe I need to get a boat and do this
@Saltyscales6 ай бұрын
Maybe you should because you clearly are unaware of boat cost, and what it takes to be a true captain. 👍
@jesusnieves21706 ай бұрын
@Saltyscales there's definite profits if your trying to do it
@Saltyscales6 ай бұрын
@@jesusnieves2170 I have been doing it for 13 years, I have buit a great following. If you think it is easy. Ask some local captains. After you pay for the boat, insurance, tackle, gear, advertising for most captains. You then have to be able to fish, and do it well. But you also have to be able to endure the elements day after to day. I welcome you to enter this space. Then write to me a year later.
@jesusnieves21706 ай бұрын
@Saltyscales with a club like salt strong I have all the local fishers at the ready. Have the gear be bring your own. The app tells you where the reefs and hot spots. Salt strong has weekly reports for that week's fish behavior and conditions and so do other charter captins. Not like I couldn't learn this stuff eventually. Under cut every other private charter by at least 300 if not more.

@@Saltyscales oh ok! Great video. Can you do a video on when the best times to fish and actually catch something? I went out Friday and catch either pin fish, grunts, or catfish, so I want to know how to read the tides and decide when the best time to go fishing. Thanks in advance.
@Saltyscales6 ай бұрын
@@fortheloveofmoney1752 I can sure but have you sen my tide, moon and barometer video?
@fortheloveofmoney17526 ай бұрын
@@Saltyscales I think I have, but I’m still having a learning curve trying to put it altogether. I’m in the Tampa area as well so when you explain reading the tides, and I can learn it, i know i would be spot on. I’m losing my interest because I’m not catching anything so it’s becoming irritating. But I really appreciate all your help and videos. I’m subscribed to you and have learned a lot from tying rigs and purchasing rods that you’ve mentioned in previous videos. I purchased one from the place in Lakeland bulls bay rod, told em you referred me.

Please as a 4th generation native it is disrespectful to be called a "boy or girl " so as a kindly gentleman I would kindly ask you to refrain from that language respectively. Blessings upon you and your family.
