Personally I think this system is the way forward but for the animals sake they should still be allowed to graze or even sit out in the sun especially in summer months, if I was to adopt the system myself I would feed outside if possible in summer months

Might be a silly question why use a drum mower and not a disc mower?

Drums are better for sliding over things also and are not like the disce version with a total flat plate on the ground and remember these are used in grazing ground which isn't always as level as silage ground. In the old days the flail mower as it was called could go into rough ground where no finger bar could.

Ahhhh... they're ya go... 1400kg of meal... I fed 800kgs and had cows producing 650kgs of solids. Do not buy a zero grazer with the assumption that you'll increase solids solely. Obviously this farm is fragmented. But the feed is a key driver of solids here.

I would never eat a cow that has not grazed... grazing is literally what they were meant to do....
