I can get about a log, or a log & a half an hour. I had it on last night, I put about 7 logs in the fire, wow, got so hot, had to move all furniture 3 to 4 feet away.

I am sorry for that, first I spent $300 on AmaZon, free shipping, not $400. I hope u purchased the same one, as mine is still working great. Had it on last not, and was able to heat the living room, kitchen, hall & dining room to 80 degrees. Turned off my oil heat & just depended on the fire place.

I know this video is forever ago but wondering if you looked at the Texas Fireframe? On the fence... Cheers and thanks

I know this is five years old, but hoping you see this comment. How did you build the fire? I just got mine today and I did newspaper then kindling then dry seasoned wood, and didn't get really any fire going. I don't know why.
@mtandiz4 жыл бұрын
I usually start my first fire, with a 3hr fire starter log, & two to three pieces of dry wood. Once i get that going, as long as i feed the fire, it will burn for days

@Balaskonis. We just got ours today and haven't used it yet. How are you making out with getting your fire stared?

@@mtandizthanks for the video what an unreal amber bed WOW. You can keep it going for days? That's terrific, we received ours today can't wait to try it. If you keep it going for days how do you manage the ashes???

@@dblackkw I'll be honest, i dont know why I can't get a good fire. what he's showing in the video i don't get anywhere near. I will call them tomorrow. FYI i have the 26" grate and fireback. My width is like 30" ...maybe I just don't make good fires?

I see you’re directly in front of the fireplace, but does that contraption heat up the whole room?
@mtandiz3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it warms, to 70 to 75 degrees. It warms the living room & kitchen.

Well, based on your review ( and the lots of other great written reviews) I spent the $400 and bought the same setup from Grate Wall of Fire. Unfortunately, I am just not getting any heat of it and don't understand why. I had a decent glowing ember bed and it is eating the wood like crazy. I have no issue with smoke with or without the grate. But still not heat. :( I notice your ember bed in the video is tremendous... do you keep it fully loaded with wood for hours to get to that point? Any suggestions?

$400? What a rip off.

Does the fireback stay in place or do you have to secure it to the back wall of the fireplace?
@mtandiz4 жыл бұрын
Alan Page stays in place, no securing it to rear of fireplace. Very heavy, 30 to 40lbs, has long legs, very stable

@Buzzbee How do you feel about your fireback and grate? Have you been happy with it?
@deliafranco3 жыл бұрын
@@POWER_WAFFLE I like it. seems like it's easier to start fires and keeps the smoke going out the chimney instead of in the house. Not sure that it gets that much warmer but it does seem to help a little. The only reason I got the fire back is I have a fire box insert I'm trying to protect . I think you probably could skip out on this if you have brick back wall.

Thanks for the video. How did this compare to how the fireplace worked before the new grate? My fireplace gets to 92 degrees right in front too but the heat barely reaches 5 feet in front. :(
@mtandiz7 жыл бұрын
joeg816 I had the same issue, the fire was hot right @ the opening, but that was it, it did not produce any heat more than a foot or two. Now, forget it, my couch is about 10 feet wide, and about 1 foot from the fire place. When you have the fire going for a few hours, it gets so hot that I have to pull the couch further away from the fire place, and the only place u could sit, on the couch, is at the end of the couch. The kitchen is about 20 feet away, & the heat reaches there. It works, anyone who bought this item will tell u the same thing. When I get the fire place going, I shut off my heat, no need for it. The guy I buy wood from was also amazed, he has been in the business of selling would for a long time, & he told me he never thought you could get as much heat, out of a traditional fire place, as I was getting. I can get it to about 101 degrees F @ the fire, and up to 85 degrees F all the way to the kitchen area.
@joeg8167 жыл бұрын
Interesting. My usual seat is only about 3 feet from the fireplace. If I get this, it sounds like I might not be able to sit here since it will be TOO hot. Have you found any way to control it or it is always totally blazing?
@Taipans6 жыл бұрын
I know this is an old post but I assume the FP is full pre-fab? I can't hear the audio right now. I have been looking at these for a long time. Currently I have (as many) to almost climb inside mine to pick up any heat. Just getting about 6 extended foot of heat would be amazing. I also had no idea the fire grates were designed that way. And I also assume the way the logs burn help project heat outwards as well.
