Wonderful show. I remember my first copy of this show, had a thick layer of hiss with low levels. We still knew what a great show we had here. 1970 was a great year! Thank you Elaine for the work you do, and the happiness you bring to so many each day. To all the folks that enjoy Elaine’s music, I hope you have a wonderful year, and all your dreams and wishes are fulfilled. ❤ to all. Be safe. Stay warm…..

They played the 26th of December in Dallas, the 28th in Pembroke Pines, Florida, the 29th, 30th & New Years at the Boston Tea Party, they are totally warmed up, playing in peak form with wobbles, road-raggeed, off balance, uncentered, big city rattled and post-orgasmic after the Boston run. The Dark Star is huge, a valiant effort that can't manage to cohere or discover direction, unachieved. The Eleven is a contender. Elaine played the next night last year. The better?
@jimpowell678924 күн бұрын
I'm listening to 1/3/70 in the version Elaine posted last year. Clearly it's better show -- after they had 24 hours to settle down and acclimate. This has the Alligator > feedback, which is huge, a That's It > Charlie runs 5 minutes longer, the China Cat > Rider intact. It's missing the Dark Star (but it's an off Dark Star -- A for effort/D for road & big city burn out) and, above all, it has the amazing R&B jam heavy concluding sequence -- Good Lovin', Dancing > drums > Dancing, St. Stephen > Midnight Hour.

Classic vintage Dead This has it all! Cryptical-Other One-Cryptical. We're talking acid Dead, not the sloppy pathetic versions of 85 with Jerry babbling the lyrics in his speedball voice. And Cosmic Charlie as the cherry on top. There's Dark Star-St Stephen-The Eleven. Vintage China-Rider. And how about opening with Mason's Children! Of course there are some gems missing like the already retired New Potato Caboose and Viola Lee Blues. The Dead always left us wanting more. I always hoped they'd breakout Mason's, Caboose, and Viola with Brent but those were as retired as Charlie. And of course it's another Raven gem strike! 💜🕵🏽♀️💀🌹👅💧💎💥⛏️🐦⬛💚
