I was backstage at a Dead show in the early 90's and my friend spotted a random guy and said- he looks like Al Franken. The guy turns and look at us - it was really Al Franken. We still bring it up.

THIS is funny! Thanks to Franken and Davis and the Grateful Dead for making this amazing thing happen. Kids...there were no cell phones, no computer internet then! I know..you may not be able to grasp that concept. To us who were there, it was very funny, we knew who they were and we LOVED it. Years! later, we were able to see the videos of this. It was broadcast thanks to some very cool people. Imagine...YOU could do this too! What are you waiting for??? Never wait for what you can do.

This is where I think technology is a detriment - it hinders natural imagination. Kids today can’t pick out their socks without an iPhone. It’s sad. The natural ability to imagine something and be creative is dwindling away……

@@LeahElisheva I do know there are amazingly creative jazz and bluegrass musicians now who play like great Dixieland jazz musicians; live improvisation being the key. It's always going to be fun and interesting; knowledge of past music and new ideas will flow and be born. That's the hope at least.
