He never walked away from us, every last soul he touched was better having heard him play, it was all still there still, in that broke down palace. We all asked for him to take us further and he took so many so far for as long as he was able he shined till the last note! I met my wife at a Providence show in 1988 and she's asleep next to me here 2018. I wish Jerry was still here, '95 shape or otherwise. That being said if you REALLY think he looks like death warmed over here then check him out 6/18, 1st night Giants Stadium out of Space and into Wharf Rat. THAT'S when I really thought he was truly going to keel over on the stage. These two shows were, relatively speaking , the light to Giant Stadium's dark. These two Albany shows (traditionally a bastion for the hardcore fans) was about a grizzled old vet rallying for his last run of the tour and he knew it, none of the shows afterwards matched the intensity summoned in Albany. The Dew was the culmination of a man who still cared for "it" as much as we cared for "him" but whose body had simply had enough. This show reminds me why I rather have him here in any shape rather than not have him here at all. I miss his singing most than anything else, yeah he was in pain in Summer '95 and he let you know it. He lived it and then some. And then there are moments like on Row Jimmy where he showed flashes of the fluidity he'd infuse a solo only like he could. A love for real not fade away.

This is correct. He couldn't find his way during Wharf Rat, it was fairly scary and even in my lit up condition I recall being baffled when it happened...I did like 8 or 9 shows in summer of 95. Albany was prob the best, maybe being indoor helped the band a bit...I remember Loser, from Albany, and the pitch of his voice when he sang...."for every ace I've draaawn" like he was insinuating that he had in fact, drawn alot of aces in his life but it was coming to an end.

You can notice a real decline in Garcia's appearance and playing in a 3 month period in 1995. In March of 1995 - Spectrum 3.17.95 Garcia is playing fairly well and singing is strong and appearance is ok. 3 months later Jerry has a ghastly color, his singing is weak as well as his playing and he is hunched over.

Vocals,timing, and many notes played are just random and unfamiliar to the tunes esp set one. Great crowd energy and magical dead moments. Jerry just seemed super spaced and just not like himself. Not just sluggish or sleepy playing but not present in mind. As I’ve stated by terrapin he is back in the game as the psychedelic road warrior and champion. Ruff Set one through *So many roads, then terrapin comes and makes you forget everything you may think about and he takes charge and leads you out and back to the places beyond.

Super sad when Jerry loses his volume pedal during Fire, has to get tech support to hit his pedals. Even sadder that there was little point in turing the volume up.
