Brent was my favorite too he had energy that was contagious to the rest of band and Jerry was really enjoying it. I think when Brent died it destroyed Jerry and he never overcame it and began doing the Persian again

3:05,,,, I sat on the roof of that building for this show, and Motley Crue's "same ole situation" video recording! Me and Ed shimmied up the drain pipe of the gutters and watch half the shows before we got caught! Little did I know that I'd be the one too tell these stories too the world 35 years later! My time is almost done, but having the ability to tell these stories, is my right of passage through this life! I am so grateful for these stories, I can die today, and have no regrets! This was my life, this is who I am, and I just wish all of my friends from those days could be here today too tell their sides of those stories! You, the next gen, you need to remember your past, so that the next GEN can avoid mistakes you made, and also progress into the best gen in history! We need never forget our roots! Because it is where we come from, but the choices you made, should be the learning they get! Mistakes correct the course of history so that the future can not make the same choice!

Maybe they’re underrated overall. But they’re beloved by those of us that know them and love them. I kind of think us Deadheads like it that way. If you know, you know. We never wanted the Dead to be the most popular band in the world, we wanted them to be just what they were. And we love them for that, they were just what we needed, and thanks to the tapers and KZbin, they still are.

My Mom always thought they were like a death-metal band because of their name. I played some GD at at her friends’ anniversary party. I was plying DJ… Anyways I received all kinds of compliments on the GD tunes that they had know idea who it was. Some of those assholes scoffed at the very name even they had just complimented on the music. FUCK THEM, use lube, but F-them… 💀

@@someguy1825Agreed. If I need some Peace and Serenity, this is the Song. I come here once and again. There’s way more to The Grateful Dead the most people realize. I got on the Bus in the early 80s and never looked Back. There’s one thing I heard about The Grateful Dead from other Heads that I heard years ago that still stands true today. If all else fails , Twirl. It works for Me to this day. Thanks Jerry. And You too Robert Hunter. God Bless both of You. 🙏

What gets me about this video is the KZbinr seemed to post this video passing by. Yes, the video is iconic. This tells me more about how the Grateful Dead touches people than the KZbinr. I will say he recognizes greatness.

This was my Third show and definitely when I was hooked for sure. In all honesty it was Brent who had my attention and kept me hanging in there those first two shows until I felt all the magic. If it takes all fucking night long.

I miss you, Jerry! I was so fortunate to be able to see you live...a once in a lifetime soul. A Beethovem, Picasso, Wagner...he had the universal life essence in his spirit.

Alpine. Such a historic venue! I wish they would bring it back to prominence.... it's hardly used for shows anymore. Maybe a couple a year. I've seen so many great shows there over the years!

If this doesnt give you a great feel, then you need to see a doctor. Brent was in the zone, and it spilt over to the rest of the band, and then onto the audience. I like to call this musical magic.
