Each Grateful Dead keyboardist brought The Grateful Dead into another direction. It's actually hard to believe how much influence they each had, but looking back on the songs and styles through the decades sheds some light on it.

Brent is the man... my inspiration to study piano and keyboard.. more soul in his pinky finger than all of today's music!

Thank you for posting. Brent's has to be my favorite keyboardist. Such beautiful vocals. So much heart in his wailing.

I think Pig's death was blow number one. Losing Brent was huge as well...but Pig had some fierce spirit and was a great inspiration. Brent was so unique in his way; his voice...how can anyone like those 2 right there ever be replaced? Then obviously Jerry...I haven't pursued the scene since he left us. I have great memories of seeing the Dead since 1980, and I'm grateful for those memories

Tom Constanten is good enough to have opened up for Robert Hunter but of course that was in the 1990s.

I see some good times I gotta get to ring that bell I gotta see some good times Sometimes you make up for when I'm not feeling well It must be due to some great times Cause right now I feel like hell Never trust a woman who wears Her pants too tight She might love you tomorrow But she'll be gone tomorrow night Come tomorrow I'll get my pay To leave this town she don't really love me Ain't no reason to stick around

@Stolehome66 yes you are right, I know, tha. It used to be Justin Timberlake, before that it was Backstreet Boys. The early 90's is when it all began to fall apart.....At least in the 80's girls were screaming over Duran Duran and pop that actually had some substance.....FTW

I don't know why the video I watched before this was a Justin Bieber one, I will never know, just as I will never know why that little **** had 16 million views. I wish Jerry were still here to shed some light on this issue that is plaguing music culture today :*(

Brent was the grateful dead....they probably would have gone farther ,if it wasn't for Jerry's ego...

@mase5701 Justin Bieber's popularity is fueled by teenage girls. He will be gone from the scene as soon as his voice changes and these girls grow up. Another will take his place when he is gone.
