oh the good ol days...dig the drummers tightening up in the beginning I'll take this year hands down....yeah garcia reached full enlightenment in 87" and was the silver surfer himself in 67 but this is the best of all worlds

The electric sets from the fall of 1980 ( SF/ NYC ) were all very short, compact versions of songs. Nice but, it was like there was a conscious effort to fit as many songs on an album side as possible. With 7 minute versions of Samson, Shakedown and Feel like a Stranger.. It was a tad disappointing because the band was playing well.

Micky and Billy are such an easy way to teach novice drummers that are just beginning to catch on about fills. I mean the master time just gets constantly sliced and diced, or to paraphrase robert fripp "more you tear it down the more it remains consistent"
