So after a 92’ Las Vegas week, our driver crashed in the SUV on our way home. No casualties but we all f’ed up. My dad wrote a nice heart felt letter to the band. He received a letter from PR and a beautiful print with autographs.( Vince and Bruce) Years later I accidentally left it behind in a rental. A year later I came face to face with Jerry in a bar within a dream I was having. Man he was not happy with me. A few months later while on my bike in Boulder co and on mushrooms I went back to that house. I told the guy my story and left with the autographed print. This was two years after his death. Much respect for Jerry, here and there.

I’ve always loved the ska vibe on both songs. Jer bear sounds great - they were tight this whole show. It’s funny when Jerry messes up the lyrics - just carry on. Makes me happy when I see him smiling and digging it - grooving to it even; all that was understandably muted in the later years. RIP gentle captain.

I went to almost every show on the West Coast in 88-89 so I heard a lot of classic tapes from the 70's. Audio tapes, so we couldn't see her groovy hips, but I can't tell you how everyone was always complaining about how this or that perfect recording was ruined because Donna opened her mouth. Worse than Yoko, because I don't think she was trying to sound weird, and it just destroyed the subtlety of some of Jerry's finest licks. Poor Keith.

@@elpatudo3670 Right, but its the monitor situation. They didn't have personally molded inner ear monitors that blocked the loud and gave you a balanced mix. She actually usually gets in tune pretty fast considering they are playing at a LOUD stage volume and have to tune to the piano every night. So the pitches change slightly, and loud pitch can be deceiving, it can sound sharp or flat and you can mistake loud overtones for the actual note; she's flying blind, but you can hear her slide into pitch a lot when she hears Jerry. That would have been the best reference for her. The boys, as guitar players, learn to sing to the guitars as a reference.

I heard he laughed when he first saw it, you can hear the tonal differences if you listen to some of the Legion of Mary from spring of 75 really sharp and bright, he absolutely tore it up on that TB. In 76 he started playing the TB500 with single coil pickups and added some effects to it in 77’ you can hear that in the Dancin from Ithica (disco was alive!) that was a great era, Jerry on top off his playing and the tone of that aluminum neck beast of TB!
