Great video! I recently bought a Miata and have been racing it. This video is educational and inspiring.

That prototype there 2/3 through...you kept on his bumper for a lot longer than most in a Miata. Your fast spots were killing the field. Great driving buddy, now I’m off to go see if you have anymore videos. If you know of any good spec build videos or blogs, can you please send me in the right direction? YT is pretty dry for “commuter to Competitive” Miata builds.

I’ll see what I can find. There is a lot of good information on mazdaracers.com, there you will find about everything. Check out the record lap video of this track

Justin Hille Thanks Justin. Means a lot to me. I’ll have to check out the lap record. I’m off to mazdaracers for a little bit. You gained another sub.

Curious how/why you got a last place grid position here at the start? You and your car are clearly front of the pack performers! Although, it sure was a fun race to watch you go from last to first.

Most spec miata guys skip shift into tight corners. A lot of guys have built up the transmission with new parts so they are very reliable.

Danny steyn been skipping gears as long as I've watched his stuff too..... If it'd break something I bet they replaced those parts after breaking the stock ones. Like any other racing. Eliminate the weakest links. 🤙😅

If you properly rev match it makes no difference, no harm to the transmission.
