Some companies are paying full salary for gratuity payment not 50 percent of the last salary . This depends on the company

Yes, correct, I have seen some companies pay at higher ratio too. It depends on the company policy. The formula mentioned on the video is minimum requirement.

Mama 1993 company ekata join une.2017 mage epf .etf gatha.ama company ekem ada ada idan thama wada.aluth epf etf number walin. Dan sewakayo 4 denai inne. Mage wayasa 57 k. after death of a person who is married & no children , how to pay his gratuity? To whom? is it required to pay within 30 days after death?

As per my understanding, an employee should complete 5 years of service period in order to be eligible for Gratuity. Usually we consider at least an employee should work more than 180 days to complete a 1 year service period. Please consult your company HR for further clarifications.
Sir, my current service period is 6+ years ( from November 2016 to date ) and it is a fixed-term contract ( during the period I have got several extensions ) but in 2020, they broke my contract for 15 days ( 31st August 2020 - 15th September 2020). but during these 15 days, I worked in the same company and got a separate payment ( off the payroll). so what is the gratuity implication in this situation? Hi Nipun, I had the chance to discuss your situation with one of our HR professionals and he believes that you are eligible to receive gratuity, (subject to the company has employed more than 15 people in the past 12 months) Even though your contract was broken, the fact that you were still receiving payment means that the labor department will consider that you have been continuously employed by the company since November 2016. It is very rare someone works as intern for five or more years. But if you are working for the company more than five years continuously, yes you are entitled to receive Gratuity.

Typically, gratuity is calculated based on the half of your last month's EPF-eligible salary. For instance, if your EPF-eligible salary for the last month is 100,000, your gratuity would be calculated on 50,000 into number of completed years. Hope this helps.
