I think the map shirt would look awesome if you tied it up like you were going to tie dye it, but then use different strengths of coffee and/or tea to do the staining. That way it would look like an old paper map. Does that make sense? I wish we had a cool thrift store like yours where I live. Unfortunately we only have the big name guys - whom I don't like.

@divergentgurl14149 жыл бұрын
Tie dying it would be too much
@sunstripe859 жыл бұрын
+divergentgurl 14 Maybe she could use tea to dye it if she did that, I think that could give it a really pretty vintage-looking brown and since she loves tea it would add another layer of meaning to it. Originally I was thinking she should do a pale blue/green combo, not tie dye but a more subtle wash between the colors, to represent the water; but I like your idea with making it look like a vintage map. That seems cooler :)
@divergentgurl14149 жыл бұрын

Don't tie dye the shirt!! Tea stain it! Boil a big batch of tea, put about 500 grams of salt in it to make sure the dye sticks, twist the shirt up as if you were going to tie dye it, and then dunk it in the tea and leave it on a low heat. In my house we have a rayburn, it's like a wood burning stove, so we just put the pots either on top of the heat bit, or if the fire's strong, on the lid. But, it does only require a low heat, the longer it stays, the darker it gets, but more 'age spots' are visible because of the colour contrast.

I used to live near my local high Street and on this street we have at least 4 charity shops. I used to go once a week then once every 3 months to donate items. The feeling of recycling clothes made me feel really good. I have found some incredible buys over the years however, it's almost like the shop workers go through everything, take out all the good stuff and out the tat on the rails for the rest of us. We have a shop in the UK called Topshop and they are not a inexpensive shop. There is 1 charity shop that used to always have something from Topshop and the woman was the same exact size as me. I used to get some crazy deals. I love 'thrift' shopping SO much!

Most charity shops now in the UK are charging more for some reason, usually £3 or £4 even for a tshirt ($4-5), sometimes it would be cheaper to buy them new. And they charge more depending on the brand, surely they're meant to keep second-hand prices the same no matter what brand?

+Kaisee Martell That's ridiculous. Thrift shops aren't only for lower income people and to say that she's taking away from people who can't afford clothes is unnecessarily hurtful. Bought a sailor swing dress for £10 (originally £30), a nice silk blouse with lace and wide sleeves for £10 (also originally around £30) and the best bargain I've ever gotten, a blue swing dress for £5 that was marked down from £50 because the zipper was broken. Had it fixed in maybe an hour and in total, it cost me £9. It was the deal of my life, I think.

+Erin Avey ya I was thinking the same! but it is a bit smudged, and those coach bags are actually everywhere in our local thrift stores. I've found them several times in different styles. Must have been a popular brand here a few decades back.

I love to thrift! Goodwill is my go to, but I also frequent the Salvation Army thrift store as well as our local Hospice thrift store, who has great prices. Love your videos Bunny!

Beeeeautiful vintage Coach purse! That's my favorite style with the handle on top in addition to the shoulder strap. So classic. :)

+Kelly Machado I've only ever heard it pronounced u-Dee-duss in the US. So many worldwide comments here, saying they've not heard it that way.

Usually in Europe we call it SH (second hand) shops. Where I live there are literally everywhere and some of them are amazing. Especially if you go there when they have new merchandise.

I think you would feel much more at home in Seattle, we have windstorms, rain, beautifully grey days, and sun (in the summer). Don't question it, just come on up, and my neighbor's house is for sale. (Yes I just want Bunny as a neighbor. Then maybe her and Dogman will adopt me and I can be weird with them).

orange skirt, smart white blouse and silver accents could look really good for say a nice/ casual diner( make a statement, so sassy).

I say stain it with tea 🍵 for a couple 💏 of days and then take some green dye and highlight some of the islands with a paint brush just to give them a nice pop of color but don't put in too much green you still want them to look faded but I think it would make for a beautiful and whimsical blouse

I was a minor when I seen a clockwork orange. I Fell in Love with that movie! I have the VHS, the DVD, the original movie poster, a replica poster, an autographed poster from Malcolm McDowell, the book both physical copy and kindle version, and rob zombie CD that features the movie in one of his videos. I am a die hard fan of A Clockwork Orange, my droogs... So move over.

I agree with some of these visitors---tea-dye that black & white map shirt. That would make it look vintage mappy.

I still use film, personally I like film and manual cameras a lot more than digital. There's so much you can do in the darkroom and processing to show your voice. All photography classes in highschool use film
