Guuuurl....I completely feel you on the having to be certain places at specific times anxiety. It's unreal how stressed out I get when I have to be somewhere at a certain time, especially something "official." It actually tends to make me late everywhere I go because I spend so much time freaking out about getting there that I end up making myself lost track of time and end up late. The stress is real and so is the struggle.

SunnysRoyalSkipper I think it has to do with OCD, or OCPD. I have the same problem... in my case it's OCD related. I'm always late on, as You called it "something official" ... I try to think it through by the tiniest detail, and run simulations in my head, which of course, does not help, neither the anxiety problem nor being late issue lol

Some tips from someone who does this for a living: First - when applying the wax spatula should not be lying down as you're doing; Second - apply some pressure (so it will grab more hair and removes the root from the hair without breaking the hair, which is the mainly cause for ingrow hair); Third - when you remove the wax you should stretch the skin and take a quick pull (reduces pain and does not damage the skin). Hope this tips helps :)

Professional waxer's opinion: first, hair needs to be longer than one week. Try two. Second, make thicker patches, especially at the edges/sides. That will help with the residue left on your leg. There will be less of it. Third, this type of wax works best with thick, coarse hair. Fine, blonde hair removes better with strip wax, or wax that requires cloth strips to remove it. I think you are very brave to attempt it at all. I also suspect you are the lost love child of Jim Carrey and Kathy Griffith! :)
@xxaBSanchezxx9 жыл бұрын
I had this and I agree. I threw it away because I am no expert and I just struggle waxing on myself. Since waxing should be pulled off like a bandaid. But it worked way better when I put a thick glob. Wish I would have know before my armpit

There is actually a way of "waxing" that prevents ingrown hairs. It's called sugaring. The only ingredients in the"wax" are water,sugar,and lemons. It prevents ingrown hairs because the procedure(which can be done at home) is different. You apply the "wax" against the growth of the hair and then peel it off towards the natural growth of the hair, whereas with waxing it's the opposite. The only reason waxing (as well as shaving) causes ingrown hairs is because when ripping the fabric/paper off, you are ripping against the natural growth direction of the hairs which causes them to curl back into the skin. Also, with sugaring, there is no paper, you just peel off the "wax".

I recently discovered your channel and I am greatly entertained by these "Does This Thing Really Work?" videos. I always wondered when I saw commercials for stuff on tv if it actually worked or was just lame, so these vids can be great for quenching my curiosity. Even though I am female I have no experience waxing, so I cannot make any comments about that. But as someone going to college for zoology (and as someone who keeps crickets to feed to my pet lizard) I can tell you that crickets do not actually use their legs to make the chirping noise. Only male crickets chirp, and they do it with special ridges on their wings. If you watch a male cricket do it, he will stand tall on all six legs to elevate his body, then lift his wings off his body a little bit and vibrate them together. I am not quite sure where the myth that they use their legs came from.

Yes really 🙄 having anxiety is extremely hard and certain things can trigger it. As long as you have a doctors note it should be fine. I did it last summer and a year before that. It's ok. I mean... I still prefer shaving my legs and use epilator on my armpits and use wax in plasters for face and bikini. It works for me. It's not that hard to do it right and if you are careful you don't burn yourself and it's not messy at all because is washable (just water!) For me waxing is not that painful but sugar wax is less painful I guess. and i was using normal cotton material with that sugar wax. It is easier that way
@lillolcatlover10 жыл бұрын
MrsBestiaAzul the idea is that you let it cool down before applying it to your skin. hot sugary stuff should probably not be put on your leg straight away?
@MrsBestiaAzul10 жыл бұрын
I waited, Rose. I'm old enough to know that the mixture would burn me skin right away out of the microwave. So I was pretty much confident when I applied it because I "let it cool". Big mistake.

Bunny, if you are not going to use the wax for your hair, use it for homemade wax stamps. seems easy, take a bit of the wonder wax, put it on an envelope (or don't) then take a stamp with no ink, press it down on the wax, wait a little while, you will soon have a wax seal.
@Iceechibi10 жыл бұрын
I never thought of that. (._. ) I tried all kinds of storebought wax, but now just make my own with a sugaring recipe, and I have all these jars of wax left over. Thanks!

@sheilaym110 жыл бұрын
I like sugar waxing you can make it at home all the ingredients are natural and you pull the hair in the direction of the hair grow so it doesnt hurt its good for sensitive skin and you don't get any ingrown hairs
@sheilaym110 жыл бұрын
I make it with 1 cup sugar 2 tablespoons of water and 1/4 cup lemon juice Cook it til the sugar caramelizes turns dark brown. Put it in a glass container let it sit and cool a bit then i grab a tblspn of the wax get some cool water for a surface and your hands make the ball of wax , stretch it in your hands over and over til its like a gold color and then ready to use.
@ninkiminjaj175410 жыл бұрын
If it isn't too personal to ask, what kind of hair do you have? I have very thick and dark hair, I'm more like a grizzly bear than a girl, really LOL does the sugar method work well for that type of hair? I'm asking about ingrown hairs.
@RowanVerditeNova10 жыл бұрын

***** my leg hair is really dark and thick so shaving is not a good option for me. I use sugar wax and honestly it is so much better than any other wax or hair removal cream I have used before. It really cleans the skin and it's easy to use after a bit of practice. One small ball of sugar wax is enough to do both legs! I recommend it!
@ninkiminjaj175410 жыл бұрын
LordessOfTheBlingz Wow, thank you for your response! I might give it a try when I build the courage haha :D

i can tell you already, that your hair wasn't removed because you didn't spread it in the right direction. you should spread with the direction your hair grows, and peel against that direction. if the instructions didn't say that's a poor instructional set for any hair removal wax.

Hey Bunny! I know you are not a waxing guru and all that so I though I would share. This kind of wax, hard wax, is very common. Its great for coarse areas such as the under arms and bikini area. You can get professional kits at Sallys for cheap. I use gigi strapless wax and it works great!
@TheNormalOddball10 жыл бұрын
Also! If you apply coconut oil before hand, the wax won't stick to your skin it it will be pretty painless

I either Veet (Nair's the same stuff, but I have 3 containers of Veet for some reason so I use Veet) or just ignore it for a year or two XD I live in Canada where it snows from October-May though.
@Coralilie10 жыл бұрын
I have tried Veet and Nair. The last time I used it, it burned my skin :( And I left it the time needed and everything. Maybe it was "expired" or something, but I got scared from that point on. Imma try waxing next.
@Tazzie131210 жыл бұрын
Coralie Colon It's really just your skin. Some people are more sensitive to stuff than others. My aunt has an aloe allergy and stuff with aloe in it makes her look like someone took a lighter to her skin. I wouldn't say you need to be SCARED, just that that product might not be right for you. saaammage has a video about the waxing she does, and she uses Sally Hansen wax. Much cheaper/easier to get than this, I'd believe.
@Coralilie10 жыл бұрын
Tazzie1312 I had used it before with no problems, it was just that one time :P So I got scared and never used it again. But it left my leg all ugly and scabby :( I will watch that video and try and wax them for sure! Thank you!

You didn't hold your skin taut like instructed, but this was good enough to answer my question about it. It's not painless like it claims to be. I don't think any wax can be painless. Even if it doesn't stick to your skin, ripping hair out is not a comfortable feeling. Just like tweezing. Thanks for being the guinea pig, Bunny!
