Hey Bunny! I think we KZbinrs are the ones who created a lot of the problems with the thinking on how this toy works. They never intended for kids to play with it for 30 minutes straight. It was supposed to be nurtured over days. We did our first Hatchimals that way and it was really fun. We found that if tried to do a "forced" hatching for a video it seemed to take longer than our first one. It's the same with once it hatches. They expected kids to play with it over time and nurture their baby. Unfortunately, we make videos where it all happens at once, so we set the wrong expectation. I think this one may have been dislodged off of its spindle in shipping. Definitely try another one!!!

I have found that most children won't really return to an egg to just do the exact same thing over and over again. Kids aren't patient. They'll want to bust it open after just 5 minutes.

Ok if you follow what the card says for the colored lights Pink- HOLD bottom of egg Red- RUB bottom of egg Orange- PAT bottom of egg And so on..... it will hatch faster. At least that's what we did with my daughter's on Christmas morning. It took around the 30 minutes everybody is talking about. Hope I helped if you do get another one.

I got my daughter one of these for Christmas. We had no problems what so ever. Just for general information, on the box there are two colors and you get one of those two colors. There are different types ( dragons, unicorns, penguins) there are different color speckled eggs each type you get one of two colors of hatchimal. It's a surprise what color you get. From my experience we followed the directions to a T and had 0 problems. Blue eyes means it's cold so we would rub the bottom to "warm " it up, red means it was scared so we would comfort it by gently rocking it. Green was sick so we would rub it more. but we didn't turn it upside down as much as you did. I wonder if you might have accidentally turned it off several times... every time ours started falling asleep we would tap on it and just rub it. My suggestion if you were to try and do it again is to try and keep it happy by following the directions to a T.

If you want to get technical, it took me, less time to have *BOTH* my kids, than it took Bunny to fully hatch that hatchimal. My daughter was born in like 60 minutes, that was from first contraction to when the midwives left, my son was around 70 minutes from first contraction to when he was handed to me. So yeah...Around 90 minutes from start to when the midwives went home, both kids.

When it falls asleep, you're suppose to set it down and DONT TOUCH IT for 3-5 seconds. Then pick it back up and rub the bottom and it should wake up right away. I think the issue was that you touched it constantly.

Well Bunny at least these come with instructions. I was in labor 27.5 hours then emergency C section. They made sure you had a car seat and that you could give the baby a bath and you can take him home. lol

I think the reason why it took so long is because you didn't "take care" of it's needs when it was in the egg before the hatching. You are supposed to follow the "mood chart" even when it's in the egg. But what you did was just shaking it and rubbing it without paying attention to it's "needs" according to the chart and the colors of it's eyes. I think that would help making it hatching faster.

Also, the whole process from start to end of hatching is supposed to take about 1 hour, (ca 25 minutes of playing to get to the hatching stage and 25-30 minutes for it to hatch open) so I agree that your's was a bit "late" hatched haha. but I think that is the result of you not paying attention to it's needs before hatching, that that's why it took so long for it to hatch (at least one of the reasons for it). I have also heard that when it falls asleep while hatching you are just supposed to place it on the table, wait a few second then pick it up to resume hatching. But there is definitely some flaws from the manufacturers side that made it hatch so badly. I think that a lot of things about this toy could be improved, that's for sure.

I too think that the original time it should take, according to the manufacturer, is too long. I think that there is a lot of things to "take care of" at the same time for a child aged 5-10 years old. I definitely agrree with you. I'm in the uk so here they cost £70 so he was no way getting a second one lol... and to make matters worse he lost interest in it within an hour.. typical eh lol should have kept it for myself 😚❤

No child is going to sit that long with a toy like that and not have a break down when it takes so long to hatch or gets stuck like this one does. This isn't a toy I would buy my child just for the fact it takes so long to hatch and that child is going to run to their mum or dad and cry when it hasn't hatched straight away.

It only took my niece 25 minutes to hatch the egg. And that was with us not realizing you had to hold it while it was pecking. We would set it down and it would fall asleep because there was no heat from your hands to keep it awake. This one is faulty. We had gotten the toy very early on, before the craze happened, before they started producing more.
