I've been curious about this since getting into beard stuff. I actually splurged on a butter from a company called Live Bearded and switching from Every Man Jack to that made a lot of difference. I had to use 1/4th of product with LB and it's perfect. I'll have to check out this Grave Before Shave butter here now. Not every product is made equal I've noticed. Thanks man!

Great review. I love GBS beard butter. I have the Gentlemen Scent. If you like Sandalwood I would highly recommend that one. It's a Bourbon and Sandalwood scent. I use it several times a week. They have a leather and cedarwood that is amazing as well. I have that in oil and balm and so want the butter.

Since I first saw their artwork, I have fell in love with their products and scents. I still try other brands (not wanting to be narrow minded), but I keep coming back to GBS. Not in my opinion. $12.99 plus free shipping for a beard oil that is fast absorbent, isn't overpowering in smell, and does what every beard oil is supposed to do. In terms on moisturizing, I absolutely love these butters. My only complaint, is that the smell doesn't always match the description. Although I do love the smell, the vanilla cigar blend doesn't smell like vanilla or cigar. It's more of a cinnamon, coke bottle candy smell.

I researched for about a week and a half. I ended up going with Viking Revolution's kit off Amazon. It was about $14. I also bought their shampoo and conditioner box set. It too was about the same (I think). The shampoo and conditioner is very refreshing. I like it alot. The kit came with the basics: Boar hair brush, strong wooden comb, unscented oil, lightly scented balm (citrusy), and some scissors (not the best quality). So, all that said, I just started my regimen yesterday. So far, I think it's ok. I really dont have anytthing to compare it to. I went for what I thought was quality and value. Has anyone else used Viking Revolution products?

Can you review the Rocky Mountain beard balm? I'm too cheap to order it myself, but I hear it has more hold than average balms, and if it actually does then I'd totally order it. So many balms are like "also provides hold!" but are just super weak. I want there to be something between a wax and a balm. As the guru of balm, you would know!

So I was at a local drugstore today. I swung by the beard products, just to see. I saw a tin of balm while I was looking. The ingredients were Shea butter, castor oil, beeswax, sweet almond oil, argan oil, grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E oil, tea tree oil, cedar wood oil, rosemary extract, soybean oil, sunflower seed oil glycerides. I was kind of shocked to find a balm like that. I flipped it over & it was Wild Willies Tattoo Balm! It was a two ounce tin for $11.99! But all the beard balms were full of chemicals & crap! WTF!

I would like to use different companies butters but I get concerned trying it. I've tried Live Bearded and Fresh Beards and I really was not a fan of the Live Bearded butter. The texture was not for me and it was greasy. If I knew ahead if time that the other butters were more like Fresh Beards consistency and texture I would be more inclined to try other brands.
