A long time I already wanted to record this theme from one of the most powerful and touching anti-war movies ever. It seems to be just an anime, but in fact it is much more...After you watch this emotional and sad movie there will be only one message keeping in your mind: "Never again war! Never!"
Ok, now here's my transcribed version of the basic theme. I used a combination of a epiano and my Steinway grand sound.

My sister committed suicide on December 2nd of this year after a very long battle with PTSD, depression, & bipolar disorder. I never knew unconditional love before her, and this summer we spent every day together going places, relaxing, eating good food, laughing about EVERYTHING, listening to her favorite music, & being best friends unlike any other time in our lives. She tried twice earlier in the year and I put a great deal of effort into trying to be a good big sibling for her since it was just us two in the house and growing up I never made an effort to be someone she could look up to and rely on. Today we picked up her ashes and now she can be with me, her art, her cat, and our love and kisses forever. We watched this movie together and cried about it a lot, so hearing this song is so bittersweet but she knows that I love her and I know she loves me too. ❤️ I love you, Cashleigh!!

This movie left me depressed for one whole week. I wasn't able to eat well for 3 days too because I was too engrossed with what had happened. Might seem weird for other people but yeah, the aftereffects are there. Well, for the piano cover, you captured the essence of the movie. Most likely, you've also been depressed like how most of the commentators are here. Thank you for the great music.

This is the movie I cried the most :( When I saw it second time I was crying from the beginning til the end! Setsuko and seita, is like I lost my own children :(. This movie changed a lot in me , in how I see the world. This is a masterpiece that need to stay forever for future generations to watch :(

I have a niece who is 4 years old and after watching this movie she told me that she is setsuko and i am her elder brother seita...It is a treat to watch this movie with her. yes she did not understand anything but she enjoyed by watching her. Now I love her more than ever.

Sakura miku I broke down in tears after I saw it for the first time. After several hours of bawling my eyes out I managed to calm myself down and I called my little sister and I told her that I loved her and after we spoke I hung up the phone and broke down again. Stayed like that for 3 days. Just couldn't stop crying.

I've been looking for a good piano cover of this song for a very long time. I originally played this on my piano nearly every day; it was the only song that really kept me "sane" for years, but unfortunately after I broke my wrist I couldn't play more than a few notes before being in a lot of pain. That was such a sad movie. TTATT I watched it a couple of months ago, and of course, I had to cry. Sadly, I cannot recall the soundtrack that accompanied this great movie; however, your arrangement is definitely good. Even though I can't remember the original song, the arrangement would fit the movie. So kudos to you.
