18:48 I personally think having David not only look straight into the camera, but reach out to it was a great touch. It's like he's pleading with the viewers for help.

Yes, I don't think these guy have enough understanding to appreciate this movie or peoples motivations. Loved the total misunderstanding of the Alamo joke.

Every John Landis film has someone looking right into the camera (breaking the 4th wall) and usually an ad for the made-up film “See You Next Wednesday”.

To this day, given Wolf-David briefly calming down, right before "going for Alex" (for want of a better way of putting it), it is my firm belief that David’s consciousness heard Alex say she loved him, but he knew that if they were together she would be in too much danger! Their love made him lunge at her, knowing he'd be immediately shot & killed; it was suicide-by-cop, to protect the woman he loved! *P.S. -* Y’all have earned a new _#Subscriber_ with this reaction video; I just wish I'd found your channel sooner! 🥰🖤

There is a sequel to this, An American Werewolf In Paris. It's not a great film but there are some fun bits in it.

Thank you cgi for making us realize how awesome practical effects are. Great pick as usual

Awesome reaction, this is by far the best werewolf movie. They broke the normal modern tradition of werewolves by making him like a wolf on all fours and not needing anything special to kill it. Of course they made a second one which was a flop, greed got the better of them instead of just going with the one. Guess they never learned from Jaw, oh wait they didn't get the memo either lol.

Now you've shown her the Rick Baker transformation, now you need to show her the Rob Botin version from "The Howling (1981)" also a brilliant film and often overlooked horror-comedy

I know it's heresy but I prefer the transformation scene as done in The Howling but I think I'm in a minority there

The Howling is a pretty straight horror film. Don't remember much comedy in it at all.

The Howling is not a "brilliant" film, it's an ok horror movie with some great effects. This is, by far, the superior film for a whole variety of reasons.

I read somewhere that Jenny Agutter's character is meant to be the mother of the female werewolf in An American Werewolf In Paris but it's never really mentioned in the film. So your idea of Alex being pregnant with David's werewolf baby is not far off for what the sequel could be about.

The onscreen werewolf transformation. All practical and unsurpassed 40 years later. The thing (1982) and The Fly (1986) are the two other 80's movies that have make up that can even compare. The 3 of them form the unholy trinity of the summum of 80's horror practical effects.

@@GraveCinema When you do, make sure you don't eat before. The make-up is impressively gross. Oscar worthy gross. Chris Walas the designer of the special effects actually got an Oscar for them. Btw, so did the team for the werewolf transformation in this film and well deserved too.

I love this movie which gave me nightmares the first time I watched it as an 8 year old. The radio version is more expansive and explanatory and has a slightly different ending but I enjoyed it too. The story flows well with actual moon cycles but I think they should have used silver bullets like in the radio version and still have a great movie. I also think there should have been a hunter’s moon included for one of the full moon nights.

“These are his dreams”? Just a small critique. I think your preshow briefings give away a little too much, overly ginning up her expectations in specific directions.

He gave away the transformation, a definite no no. Generally, he seemed to have a lot less to say than the amount of words he enunciated.

Yeah, like every movie, they could have done any number of things different in the story. But this is the story they chose to tell, and they did it well. If you wish there were a different story, then make your own damn movie and tell it.

7:21 I personaily gurantee you NO one acts like that in an English pub and I speak from Experience. I lived in the UK for 4 months and drank in country pubs and they are quite friendly there..even to Australians. Also the pub scene wasnt even filmed in England IT WAS FILMED IN WALES. Also I never seen Tea offered and a lot of English people I stayed with drank coffee so myth busted there they all drink tea and yes I had a cold beer there so another silly myth busted. Don't belive everything you are told or shown.
