Fun fact about Stephen Price's hullucination in the saturation chamber. The nurse accompanying Vannacutt in sequence is none other than Slavitza Jovan aka Gozer from Ghostbusters 1984.

And yes, the way they spoke back then (like smooth, smokey Scotch) for the description of the old version of House on Haunted Hill is part of the reason why I fell in love with this channel, because your roommate (I'm so sorry I have forgotten her name at the moment) has that cadence and mannerism in her voice, from old timey movies, and that is just awesome.

This is an Underrated horror movie remake of the same name from 1959 starring Vincent Price.

@@garbageday587 Yeah I watched the old version on Netflix several years ago. It was so lame. Pre 70s horror did not age well.

I adored the first couple of Dark Castle movies, and this one is my favorite. A coherent, well structured story filled with twists, turns, and fun dialogue, really creepy effects, and great use of Manson's cover of Sweet Dreams. Such a good cast! Always near the top of my Halloween playlist. I really appreciate that you're reacting to some fun, older, less-known horror movies that others aren't reacting to. Please consider the follow-up to this one, Thir13en Ghosts, as well as Slither, Deep Rising, and The Faculty.

I can't recall where they originated from (it was mentioned in the DVD special features), but those things in the glass cases were real plasticized bodies.

I like the fact that the main protagonist actually resembles Vincent Price!

Yes, back in the day, asylums kept patients shackled in their own filth. They submerged them in ice cold water often to the point of drowning. They drilled screws into their skulls, and exposed them to tortures designed to drive the insanity out, often times making their psychoses way worse. They performed trans-orbital lobotomies, leaving the patients in permanent states of incontinence with no personalities, no emotions, no memories, at least the ones that weren’t killed by the procedure. Gross violations of human rights to say the least. Thank the Lord pharmaceuticals like Thorazine helped calm and control patients so they could be treated with dignity and compassion.

Thats the thing I do not mind remakes as long as it's an actual remake. I have to say that because people in Hollywood do not understand what a remake is nowadays. Case in point a remake by it's definition is a retelling of the original story in an updated manner. With some changes but the core story is the same as the original. I have to point that out because some people don't understand what a remake is. Because you take for prime example Black Christmas 1974 it only has one remake. That is Black Xmas / black Christmas 2006 because it has the same core story as Black Christmas 1974. Then in 2019 some people made a whole new movie that has never been made or seen ever before anywhere in Hollywood. Then called it a remake of Black Christmas 1974. Even tho it literally and figuratively has nothing in common whatsoever with black Christmas 1974. Other then the name black Christmas other than that they have nothing in common. Black Christmas 1974 has one story plot black Christmas 2019 it's story has nothing in common with Black Christmas 1974. But Hollywood and the ones that made it are calling it a remake of Black Christmas 1974. When black christmas 2019 literally and figuratively has a whole new story that has never ever been told ever in the history of movies. So since black Christmas 2019 has a fully separate. Story that is not a retelling of the original movie it is not a remake. By the literal definition of a remake but people are believing Hollywood wich is stupid. I mean calling black Christmas 2019 a remake of Black Christmas 1974. Is like calling A Nightmare on Elm Street a remake of Halloween. But seriously people will continuously say black Christmas 2019 is a remake because the ones that made it say it is a remake.

If she won't go to penhurst you should try Waverley sanitarium (it was a TB clinic back in the 30s(before TB had an effective treatment) and a few thousand people died there.

Wait, with American Psycho "I didn't get Frodo until the end of the movie". I feel like i"m missing a joke here, or she misspoke. Or I misheard. Help! Also, I just realized, on the heels of watching a "Clue" movie reaction (been years since I've seen the movie) this is basically a scarier version of Clue. Which, I know, Clue has all the tropes of old murder mysteries and whatnot, but the parallels are there. Knowing that makes it simultaneously less scary and more scary, somehow.

That place if real and that big would be fun to explore and don't give me that buildings are haunted excuse, i grew up exploring a ton of abandoned buildings from old banks to factories and full on apartment complexes and never encountered anything strange and it only further proved my belief that they don't exist as i never believed in it. Only thing i came across creepy was when I was a teenager five apartments buildings was still in use and I lived in one but one apartment building that was part of the rest but was completely abandoned and gated off but rumors from people who lived in the other buildings for long times said it was closed due to a murder caused by stabbing from a husband to his wife in a apartment on third floor, so that peeked me and my uncle's curiosity even more so we waited till nighttime as to not be seen and brought flashlights as the buildings power was never in use but we found a basement apartment window already broken and so we gone in and we explored each floor even came across one apartment that was on second floor burnt to a crisp but didn't spread anywhere else. While walking and was talking with my uncle down a hallway till I turned and realized he wasn't near me anymore and I started checking rooms and he gave me a jump scare, Anyway we eventually made it to third floor and started exploring all the apartments looking for any sign of the murder apartment room and after a great deal of rooms checked we eventually found the exact one proving what people told us was fact of murder taking place on third floor. The living room had a blood trail on carpet leading from kitchen area to a wall near a outlet socket and that is the location of the most blood as if someone bled out here, my uncle suggested the person crawled after being stabbed and sense the trail led to a wall socket in the living room that might of been the location of a home phone they had and she was trying to call for help before bleeding out and dying and after that we left. Sorry about the crude text but wanted to type through my experience as fast as possible because not writing a book here, to anyone who read all the way through i give you my thanks for taking the time to hear my experience and with that have a good one.

LMAO I love this movie. I actually ended up watching it on my wedding day. The CGI is...well not great but otherwise the movie is awesome and underrated by people. But I think that about most of the early dark castle movies(this, thirteen ghosts, ghost ship)
