This franchise is a guilty pleasure especially the first two movies I still play the games from time to time but I like how the actors had to play the first 3 games to be familiar with the story but Michelle Rodriguez is a huge fan of the games.

Thank you, I didn't know that. Nor that M.R. loves the games too.

The original games were third person, usually fixed camera location. With tank controls meaning you go forward back and could turn left and right then go forward. Games all played the same through RE: Code Veronica (which was technically the 4th game.). They remade the first game for the Nintendo GameCube with much better graphics but I believe the same controls. And about then also released RE 4. 4 departed from the tank controls pretty much. I believe it was over your shoulder third person mainly and played a lot more fluidly than tank controls. I haven't really played much past there, I do own and played a little bit of one that takes place in Africa. The rest I've seen people play in live streams. Couple are in first person after that point. And the last ones remade the second and third games using the new control style and vastly upgraded graphics. Then they remade RE 4. They looked to be very fun! This series of movies is reasonably good. Milla and the director were married. Which I guess makes it easier to keep cranking more movies out in the series, while maintaining the main star and director through out. Great scifi/horror/action movies! Love the soundtrack by Marilyn Manson. These movies do borrow the basics from the game of a zombie outbreak. It borrows creatures from it like the Dogs and the Lickers. Eventually the games kinda alter how the zombies worked, and some of that made it into the further movies. Some characters will show up from the games. But other than that, it is its own thing entirely. I remember one of the complaints I'd always hear about these were how they weren't anywhere near like the game. So then they rebooted the series (not counting a few cgi movies.) with Welcome to Raccoon City. Covid had hit around then so theaters were in that kinda shape. I believe it may have been one of those in theater and digital rental situations. Maybe not digital right away but earlier than usual and I imagine very few people were going to the movies yet by then. I know and have heard a lot of people hate the movie. I did finally get to see it when it was finally on hbo or a streaming service somewhere. I liked it. It basically tells the story of the first two games. And it does get pretty close to what actually happened in the games (finally!) for a movie adaption. That's why I don't really understand why, when one of the main complaints I've heard for the Alice series of movies was not being close to the game story, and we finally get that, people hated it. It's not winning any Oscar's for sure but it was decent. It's not terrible at all.

I wonder what Roomie would think to "The Car" (1977) or "The Entity" (1983) or "Deep Rising" (1998). Maybe even "Final Destination" (2000). Those would make for great Grave Reacts!

When you said how come zombies never eat each other. It’s actually explicitly stated in resident evil they do in fact eat each other when in desperation. There are other circumstances as well I recommend playing the games to find out more.
