Of the few that I’ve done Graeme I’d say that this is my favourite, followed by Inverness to Fort Augustus.

Really enjoyed this, Doug. Lots of familiar places! I’m a wee bit biased though as I was born and raised in Helensburgh before moving to Islay in 1991. 😁👍🚴🏻♂️

Thanks DaveIslay. I used to do quite a bit of work in the Diageo Distilleries and maltings on Islay. I used to look forward to our trips over there. BBC

@@specializeddoug KZbin threw the 5 ferries video at me so I’m now subscribed and look forward to seeing more. I take it from your Strava tag that you’re Royal Albert CC? Is Stewart Wilson still about? I worked with his wife Fiona in RBS 40+ years ago when he was winning Grass-titles and occasional RR’s. I know his brother probs won more but I didn’t know him. 👍

Thanks DaveIslay. I don’t know him. I am a member of the Royal Albert but most of my rides are gravel routes. I have a few road ride videos on the channel but it’s mostly gravel riding, bikepacking, surfing and snowboarding, with a few holidays thrown in. Thanks for Subscribing and I hope you enjoy some of the content.

What tent are you using?
@specializeddoug4 ай бұрын
@@chrisearnshaw7865 it’s a Nemo Dragonfly 2 (2 man). It’s a cracking tent, pretty light and super easy to pitch.

Alright Doug, I passed you on the canal, at Kelvinhead, I was going the opposite way and didn't realise it was yourself until I had passed, glad you all had a lovely few days. ATB Guys and well done.

Cheers @vr_gamers8116, we had a great wee adventure, despite the weather’s lack of co-operation.

I think we’ll have a decent turnout to do it again in the Spring. Keep an eye out for the invite and join us then @Jamesmckenna5993.

Looks like a great route - I did shorter 50-mile route from Helensburgh (home) this past weekend, following much of that route to begin with - but staying on the WHW to Milngavie and then taking roads and cycle paths back to Helensburgh. Toughest bit for sure was that one section of ascent up loose/rocky path on the WHW, and I ended up pushing a wee bit up it. So many gates on the WHW too!

It’s a belter of a route @marcproudfoot. I’d thoroughly recommend it. Those gates can be a bit of a buzzkill can’t they?

Those cycle paths in Edinburgh are old suburban railway lines. In Glasgow you've still got local train lines!

Thanks Sean Webster. I thought that they might be. It’s great to see them invested in and repurposed.

You seem to have taken a diversion missing out Burncrooks Reservoir and Carbeth

Yip, I think we did. I was expecting to go that way but it was some of the other lads who had planned the route and who were doing the navigating. My role was just the filming. 😀
