The only thing I hate about gravel bikes are people who compare gravel bikes to MTBs. All bikes have their place. What ever your preference is just have fun and don't gatekeep!
@michawesoek32553 ай бұрын
Most of the time those people don't even have a gravel, and are showing distain towards it. I have a gravel bike and I know it's just terrible in terrain, compared to a full suspension bike. But damn do I enjoy being fast on tarmac while still being able to do some drops, or ride in muddy terrain
@michaeltagor423829 күн бұрын
@@michawesoek3255yeah but you can be relatively fast on roads and it goes without saying how better MTBs are at kuddy terrain. If you can't be fast on an MTB on a smooth surface that's a skill issue

Cyclo-cross bikes are still a thing. They're meant for racing , whether gravel bikes are in most cases best suited for loger rudes and adventure, due to their comfy geo.

They are similar in terms of the terrain you ride on but they do have differences. Frame geometry is probably the main difference.

Since i switched to the dark Roadie Side I get the point of Gravel Bikes now. They are for people who want to ride MTB's but prefer the body position/the riding Style and maybe the astetics from a Drop Bar bike.. These are MTB's for Roadies 🤷🏼♂️

For me it‘s the other way round. I‘m an XC Mountie and the gravel bike is my bike if I want to go really fast on reasonably tame terrain. (I hate sharing my biking space with cars, so gravel all the way.)

I used to think the same. Those shorts, and the fit of them, serve several very useful purposes, especially on long road rides. If you don’t like the look (And who does? I mean, they’re ugly and NO one looks good in them!) then you can wear a pair of Mtn shorts over the top. To each his own.

I’m still gonna stick with the fact that they’re silly bikes that nobody really needs now that road bike dropouts are getting wider and wider. In time the gravel bike will fade away I’m sure. The kind of terrain that they’re faster than anything on is very limited in consistency, especially in the uk.
