Here we are then, on the route I originally planned prior to contracting the old 'ronavirus. Weather was a bit of a nightmare, route a bit suspect and views non-existent! But it was a great little day out nonetheless.

I must admit to also using my bags and or panier rack (with a plastic bag placed on top) as an alternative to the mudguard to 'prevent' the dodgy looking mud strip...

Brave in January on a gravel bike! I’m local and have done the route on gravel and mtb. Tough but fantastic either way

Rusty. As I do, are you just scouring OS mapping for possible new routes, some that will work out and some that won't , or are you using a different method. Additionally, do you use Bing satellite imagery - or something else? Thx.

Hey, I usually go into komoot and look for potential areas with trails and look for comments, then look at satellite images and strava heatmaps to see if anyone else goes there. Then I just get out there and give it a bash. My routes are usually a result of my seeing a single track or trail that I want to ride and then trying to make a circuit out of it as best I can.

Haha! I always think the hills look fun when I plan, but very soon regret my choices once I go out and ride them!
