Well done Mike, Julie and company nice ride. The Giant seems to be performing well be nice to get rid of the chimney stack. If Julie would like a new bike, why not have the things you want. If it makes you happy. this thought is why I have 5 bikes.

The chimney stack is gone and I've made a few other mods so it feels like mine again☺👍 rides really well. I think it's time to get rid of a few bikes we don't ride now. Let me re-phrase that, time to make room for some new bikes👍😉

Came from your collab video with Leonard around my neck of the woods, seen a few of your slowest everesting series, need to go back to the start now though and see the journey in full, haha. You guys are great, wish I could get my wife into cycling properly, maybe when the kids are a bit older.

Cheers Simon, that's how it worked for us but the other way around, Julie had ridden to work for a long time and gradually we got more time to ride together. If you want some riding buddies check out Dorset Grit and Gravel, Hampshire Gravel Cyclists and Gravel Guerilla Facebook Groups...

You are so lucky to have all that scenery on your doorstep! The Autumn colours are stunning! Round here it's all flipping conifers - just the odd bit of colour here and there. Oh hayup, a second new bike incoming then eh? Hang on though, the Avail is a road bike isn't it? Liv do a new (I think) gravel bike in the Devote... Looks rather nice... Just sayin'... ;-) It really does sound like you're loving that bike Mike! Great ride!

You're not wrong Mick, and having not ridden in the forest for a few weeks the colour change made it feel new yet familiar. I think we'd have trouble swapping the Invite, Julie has a strong emotional connection to it. Yes it's not the fastest but fantastic to ride and a real mile eater...

@@julie-wheelersatlarge Look good don't they! Now all you need to do is find a way of justifying adding one to your fleet (not trading in the Invite... oh no... uh-uh, that wouldn't do at all!). The Invite for wet weather duties (mudguards, knobblier tyres etc) and a Devote for sunny days... yep, that'd work! ;-)

The frame set was changed and most of the components swapped across from the Toughroad. Fortunately I had end caps to convert the wheels to thru axle and they supplied new brake pads, brake hoses, cables and some other bits.

I'm fairly new to gravel riding and have been taking inspiration from some of your routes around the forest. Tech question - I seem to pick up punctures on every ride, usually when I re-join sections of road I hear the hiss of the tubless trying to seal (runnjng tubeless/ pirelli cinturato M), is this normal/ is their some sharp gravel in the new forest/ is this just bad luck? Recently moved from Gravel Kings which were far worse.

Thanks for the comment it's great to hear that you're getting out in the forest... Yes the New forest can be harsh on tyres but I've had pretty good success with Gravelkings and Cinturato M using Stan's Race with the little fibres in it which seem to block the puncture quickly. In my experience it definitely performs better than the Stan's No Tubes or any of the others I have tried in the past. I also carry a Dyna Plug just in case, which has been used on a couple of occasions and worked pretty well. Check out the Hampshire Gravel Cyclists group on facebook 👍

@@WheelersAtLarge Cheers for the reply! I have been using the standard stans sealant, will give their race stuff a go. Very lucky to have the forest so near, find it hard to get out on the road bike now have had a taste of the gravel rides we have around us. Have joined the HGC group now 👍
