Love the Monster Cross 2016 cap. Very clean bike. Your attention to the little details on the bike are very well thought out. Now I want one. Hope you are well and look forward to running into you again soon. Thumbs up.

Very informative video, with clear explanations and good, close-up views. That Titanium frame is beautifully made! I'm surprised at the amount of disassembly you did. Could the cassette remain on and the wheel still fit in the S&S case? About the tubeless tires: does the sealant clog the valve chuck of the pump? You have a great setup there, eTap and all. That's a well thought-out travel bike. Seems you need to take a great many tools with you, though.

Hi there. The cassette installed prevents the wheel from fitting perfectly in the case. All of it is a pretty tight fit. Thus far, never had any sealant affect the pump's chuck. However, I've had many valves clogged up over the years. I definitely take a lot of tools, I like to be self-reliant, particularly if there are no bike shops anywhere nearby.

Fascinating. I guess if you had hydro brakes it would make things quite complex in terms of the brake fluid and removing the handlebars etc.
@GravelCyclist6 жыл бұрын
The only hydro brake I could use would be a hybrid, as in the TRP HY/RD, which is a mechanically actuated hydraulic brake. A true hydraulic system would be very difficult.

@@GravelCyclist Yes, I actually have a set of those brakes. As I was watching I was thinking of the amount of times I keep ramming my bike into the boot of my car and the amount of damage that its doing to the interior. I must go and watch your earlier review of the bike.

Such a sick bike. Love the mix of clsssic and modern tech. No cables on the gears looks so clean. How do they hold up in rotten wet and muddy conditions? Also are they heavier than traditional mechanical systems?

eTap has held up well, I raced this very bike at a nasty edition of the Almanzo 100 in 2017. The video is my older style, but the bike was the least of my concerns on that day!

This is such a rad bike, will admit that it looked like a suitcase of Chinatown garbage when you first opened it :)

Haha!, it is a pretty disgraceful mess in there!

How old is that bike? Had no idea Ritchey made one of titanium.
@GravelCyclist6 жыл бұрын
Caesar, it is at least three years old. I bought the very last 54cm Ti CX Breakaway frame that Ritchey had. Sadly, they are no longer made :(

wireless is pretty cool for a travel bike...but why would you take the cassette off the wheel and detention the brakes?
@GravelCyclist6 жыл бұрын
Cassette is removed due to space... the cassette body needs to have nothing installed in order to pack correctly. Detensioning the brakes is again about space.

What does the bike weigh?

Why would you not leave 10/15PSI in the tires?
@GravelCyclist6 жыл бұрын
Inflated tyres take up room. The wheels are a tight fit, and there are NO issues as the bead stays intact.
