I have used them for two years and have done well over 10K kms. Fun fact - very grippy on all surfaces, also roll well on asphalt, and eventually, they rub down and become TerraSpeed - two in one haha. Also, quite puncture resistant with various types of sealants, especially Hutchinson Protectair / Stans Race

I am currently using terra speed tires. After 8,000 kilometers of riding, the rear tire is seriously worn. The tires are good but too expensive. Listen to your plan to switch to terra trail

I use Terra Trail on the front and Terra speed on the rear. Perfect combo and fast rolling

Mine arrived a week ago, I put them on, went on a ride around the old quarry first and the forest next to it, and it was the most fun I've had this month. And yesterday we had a lot of snow, and they were amazing. I was climbing some steep slopes and they gripped so well! On ice they can slide obv, but when you're trying to get your back wheel out of the slide, and certain point they suddenly grip very hard, so much that it can throw you love the bike, like those Moto GP motorcycle racers sometimes get thrown out of their saddles in the corners. Anyway, I was still super confident even on roads that are basically covered with ice, there you just have to avoid using front brakes. Very impressed with their gravel, mud, snow and even ice performance!

JOM..... I am running Terra Trail on my front and Terra Speed on the rear - both in 40mm... I find this a great combo - as you say - if running them on the appropriate surfaces... Pavement will eat them pretty fast...

Thanks. I'm going to be testing then on some gravel specific wheels for my hardtail in '25. TerraTrail front and TerraSpeed read both 40mm.

Thanks for the review. We spoke previously about the Panaracer tires, upon we had different experiences, mine was disappointing. The Terra Trail tires have held up well, though my cycling was interrupted for the last four months by knee surgeries. Am back on trainer and will be graveling soon. Will let you know if these tires standup up to the San Francisco Bay well kept roads.

I ran a set of the Conti Terra Speed (generation one) tires which were amazing at first, but weeping sealant through the carcass badly put a swift end to their use... I switched up for the Terra Trail version and had good times with those for the most part. Agree that they're a wee bit noisy on the road... But, they ARE as you say "confidence inspiring" on mixed surfaces. Cheers!

Unless the weeping sealant leads to delamination ,as is the case with Maxxis Rambler tires, it is not a big problem. My tires weep a bit so I top them off occasionally which you must do with any tire. I have about 5K miles on a Speed on the rear and Trail on the front.

There is a cheaper version wth Pure Grip compound, produced by Continental factory in China. I have seen this in 700c by 35, 40, 45 width.

You're probably referring to the Continental RaceKing CX in 700 x 35.... came std on my Motobecane Fantom Cross Trail. Good tire & set up tubeless on the WTB tubeless ready wheelset

Hello there, they are tubeless ready, I demonstrate the inflation process of tubeless setup in this video. Thank you!

I've been using Terra Trail for last 4 months. Done a little bit over 4k kms and already need to change front with rear ar rear is almost gone ... not sure if 4k kms is a normal wear distance for them? I'm generaly doing 70/30 tarmac/gravel. Super happy with them, as I have not got any puncture so far.
@GravelCyclist Жыл бұрын
That's some pretty impressive Kms especially when your riding is 70% on tarmac. My review Kms were almost entirely on mixed-surface roads, likely about 20 tarmac/80 mixed. I question some of these other reviews who claimed these tyres have a short life, unless they had a dodgy batch?

@@GravelCyclist They came with the Canyon bike, but I think I'll give them a try anyway and get new set in next few months. Thnx ! Edit: Just saw a test on YT stating that more tarmac means more wear for Terra Trail and they were suggesting rear one to be replaced after 2.5k kms. At this point 4k kms sounds pretty good then!

I actually use a G-One R and it’s at 1.7k. I think 500 more kilometers and it’s over at the rear. I think about switching to the Terratrail, because the Schwalbe costs 65-80 € and the Conti costs 22,-€ that’s a third to a fourth of the Schwalbe here in Germany. Better I don’t think longer about it.

Could you compare Terra Trail/Speed vs Gravelking SS please?

Hello, these sorts of comparison videos are very subjective. I have reviewed the Trail, Speed, and SS. Have you checked out those videos?

@@GravelCyclist yes i watched all of them! For mostly asphalt and 20% level 1-2 gravel which would offers the most grip and comfort in your opinion?

I am about to buy these... But a question... In reality, I do 90% of my riding on tarmac but I live in Vietnam and the roads are loose, crappy, rocky and broken... This is why I prefer the all purpose tire... Will I get value from these on the road? I would like to get 2000 to 3000kms out of them at the minimum... Is my expectations ok? or do I just go more road style rubber?
