This video is a review of the Gravely Prostance Mower. If you're looking to add a mower to your lawn mowing business I would highly recommend giving a hard look at the Gravely Prostance 52. The mower cuts well, operates very smooth, and has been very reliable thus far.

The 2020 ProStance 52 was my first commercial purchase last March.Really enjoying it and with all the factors I'm certain I made the best choice.

Not so much relevant to this particular video but I was hoping I’d get a response from you since it’s a newer video. I started my business up about a week ago. I hit the ground running hard last week and have gone door to door to over 150 homes doing door hangers. I know it’s later in the season but I can’t get a single person to even let me give them an estimate. When google searching for lawn care services you can’t find a single company yet every fire fighter and their brother seem to be mowing lawns with a fly by night setup. My setup makes me look like I’ve been in the industry 10 plus years. 2018 F 350, aluminum trailer, top line equipment etc. I was lucky and just happened to have everything I needed so thankfully no debt going into the biz. I say all this to say I have been able to set myself apart drastically from the little guy that may or may not even show up. Maybe a week isn’t fair time to judge my performance. I was just a little more optimistic I’d be getting calls left and right and it’s been crickets. In largely populated area so I’m stumped...give it more time or do you have feedback for where I may be making mistakes? I’ve watched about every video you have so I’m running out of ideas.

I’ve had that problem with scag mowers, check the deck height on every single mower you ever buy! It’s soo important

03:40 Check the level from front to rear on all your machines and try to duplicate the level of the best cutting mower. The mower shop I worked at set all mowers at a quarter inch higher at the rear. Tire height and pressure plays into it too.

Hey there, not sure if this has been covered in a previous video: Do you store your crew truck at your place and then allow the other crew leader to take the equipment setup of the second crew with him, or use a storage facility instead? One of the things I have been pondering is the logistics of starting that second crew, if you don't live on a large rural property. Secondly if someone were to park the truck and trailer at storage, how does the crew meet up before they head out? Anyways, seems this new 52 gravely is winning people back over from past cut quality concerns, and like the continuity of equipment strategy!

Enjoy your videos. Two questions. Maybe I missed it, do you have mulching kits on your mowers or do you mostly side discharge. Have you ever considered Wright over Gravely? Thank you in advance.

Center of gravity on the stander machines seem to cut better than sit downs with identical decks.

Hello. I have been watching some of your videos and find them to have great content. I have a question about one of your past posts on your pricing. Do you only estimate properties per cut? I’m not far from you and most companies in my area bill monthly by having a set number of cuts per year and dividing them by 12 to get a set monthly payment.

I have the same mower and mine has holes in the front corners of the platform that drain slowly. Maybe yours are clogged? I thought mine held water until I looked closely. Great review!

I have a 2020 32inch Gravely stand On the mower can not cut low or Mulch at all it is only good for high Or mid cut accounts and I have mulch blades as a mulch kit and a clutch to hold grass waste of $8,200 Gravely Mowers in 2020 are junk if you want a real commercial mower you better go hustler or ferris scag or Xmark!

Jonathan - not at all related to this video but I had a question I’m sure you’ve faced before - if a client asks you to knock down weeds in their landscaping bed do you up sell there as cleanup services or include it in the weekly mowing? Some of the uglier properties can be extremely profitable but run into this issue. Thanks in advance!
@FloridaTurfPros
@FloridaTurfPros 4 жыл бұрын
The estimate the client approves says the estimate is for general maintenance of the turf/lawn and is not valid for flowerbed areas. If it is something very small I don't mind occasionally knocking it down with the trimmer, but if it's something that is recurring then I tell them it will be a separate estimate to come and address the weeds in beds.

@@FloridaTurfPros Thanks for sharing your thought process Jonathan. It's a fine line when you add on services but I think there's definitely a line where an additional charge comes into play. Thank you sir!

Rule number one never tell your employer do not like their machine
@jeffreyprezalar220
@jeffreyprezalar220 3 жыл бұрын
Zero turns move faster then standons again trying to process too much grass than the machine can process . You should have looked at your horsepower rating also . Good rule of thumb 18 inch cut minimum 4hp plus 3 to 4 hp for the machine to move.Basically 36 inch minimum 12 hp and that is bare minimum.
