I just randomly came across this video. This prop statue is neat. It reminds me of an artist I studied, Albert Szukalski, who recreated the Last Supper in a similar fashion. One thing I learned, you can use old football pads (a thrift store is a cheap place for one) to create shoulders, just put some cling wrap or vaseline to allow for reuse. The artist used live people to put the mixture over for the shapes.
@StiltbeastStudios

yes, Ive seen his work- just different materials. I feel like shoulder pads would make them too beefy, I prefer slender reaper types myself.

I am most encouraged by the canvas statue as there is so much more reality in the imagination of the macabre. I loved the shading process the most. Spraying upwards for inner shadow and downwards for the light. The teal was the icing of color, gave the statue a look of superiority. I just have to try this one day---on my bucket list as all supplies and having to own special crafting tools cost. Can I borrow yours? Kidding.

Just FYI, but you don't really need to cut a circle for the head, as all you need to do, when you've folded it in four, is cut little slits along the fold lines. As in an X, because then the head just pops through it, but also the triangular parts that poke up can look sort of like a neck or collar. Hope you like my suggestion

Those look amazing! It would be fun to put a red flickering light in the hollow one, or making that as a third one...I like the idea of one just having that black void inside...

randomized eye flashing in the hollow one. They make a reflective clear coat you can spray onto items so make an eye shaped mask and spray the back of the inside of the hood to just get the eyes so a flashing light down in the neck would hit the eyes and make an empty hood look out at you.

WOW! What great ideas. I would never thought to use liquid nails to coat canvas to help waterproof. You are amazing! Thanks so much.

I watched this tutorial last year and my husband is going to help me make one this week. I am so excited because Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday and your channel has the best tutorials for professional looking decorations. I would be scared you know what if I were walking in the woods and came across one of your 'guardians' and I ride my horse in the woods weekly, so it could happen! Thanks for the great tutorial!

I am going to be leaving my statues outside in the elements and at the end of the video you stated that they were somewhat waterproof since they had been treated with liquid nails. Would the addition of Loctite to join the individual canvas pieces together help make the statue water proof or would you suggest an additional water proof coating to achieve that.

Damn! Great work and awesome inspiration with all you do! I had this idea of one of these using a burlap, cement mache. Chicken wire base with one role of burlap dragged through a mortar slurry and draped over. My concerns are storage and weight. Could be flakey when dry if it's not wrung out enough. Thanks again for all the energy you put in. Know that you are spawning tons more in the minions watching.

Used your concrete bases. I reallly thought they would stand up better, but a slight wind blows them over. Still like this better then staking them in the ground though.

how much concrete did you add, you could just make it a bit heavier.
