I watched them film Christine. It was mostly filmed in a metal bungalow on Irwindale Ave., Just south of the 210 freeway. One of the night scenes you see Christine is rolling on Irwindale Ave just after a rain with wet streets. The trees that line Irwindale Ave were newly planted, full grown now. The large metal bungalow building where Christine lived was demoed just after the film was made, It's now a McDonald's and it's still there. Just a little silly trivia, that McDonald's holds the record for selling the most Big Mac's across the U.S...Lots of truckers go there...ok, I'm done...Good video, Thanks!

@@whiskeybuilder6335....Back in the 90's I worked many movies, I was a police officer working at Azusa PD (25 years) I even got to be in a few, just passing shots. Azusa is movie friendly and costs less for them to film with permits and fees. Some of the movies my partner and I worked security were, Poly, Fathers day with Robin Williams, T.N.T., with Randy Travis, Dukes of Hazard and several others. Some were hit movies, most went straight to d.v.d. and were a flop...

@user-uu2uv8bw2s You missed a lot of the USA we built, not taught in schools son. How young are you? I would rather live in that past, than your future. No offense,---but your entire generation should be offended. I am only 60, and lived in the middle of that 'transformation". When would I have liked to be born? Around 1900, and have an engineering degree just when the electrical grid was being set up. Want to talk about "opportunity" we had with that grid and our liberty to start businesses with the free enterprise we created that was still in our hands (and now given to communism)? Now, you don't grow up to be what ever you want like we were told by teachers, (which meant we have a brain in our heads, and a free enterprise system in our hands to use it in.), now you grow up to do what my old JH sign says, "Forward to serve", (the state). If you don't reject communism right now, (and demand your individual liberty and free enterprise back), human freedom will be lost before----you are our age.

Christine could have done all that repair work herself, but she wanted to make them earn it! I'll bet she saw that heavy plant machinery and thought "oh no not again!" I watched them doing the Bondo work, and the line Detective Junkins says "damned if I can see the fill, the report said they punched holes in the body" came into my head!

I was fortunate enough to buy from an older neighbor across the street from me, a 1958 Chrysler Windsor with Selectadrive transmission, and a 354 hemi, all original right down to the oil bath air cooler. He drove the car around the neighborhood once a month for many years. Seafoam green and white it was quite a peach. For several years, I'd say "Mr. Thurmond, when you gonna sell me that car? He had taken the car in trade for some work he had done on someones house, in Munster Texas. One day (1986) as I asked once again, he said "Its worth 24 but ill take 2000." After very little thought, I told him "sold!". After I bought the car, and having never looked at more than the engine and interior, the trunk was packed with original parts from the time, and I mean everything. Brakes, alternator, point sets, engine overhaul gasket sets, belts, hoses, it was unbelievable. Soooo, I actually started commuting with the car, and one of my coworkers took a shine to it, He offered me 3800 for it, so I sold it to him. Ahhh, regrets 26 yrs later. But, some damn good memories and pictures of that car!

Yea, well we are just not as good at doing things as we used to be. In the early 80's, I cooked for a place that now hires 3 cooks to do what I did alone. And in 1978, a HS kid could restore that car 3 times---in 1.5 hours from a junk yard. :)

It is true, that people who build things do not get the recognition that they deserve. Today, we think a product grows on a communist tree for free. But the people in the USA who built things following what they thought was possible in what used to be our free enterprise? They, creating the great industrial revolution in the USA, are responsible for getting mankind out of the dirt.

During disassembly, it was time to reinforce the cabin, roof, floor, doors, and pillars. Also, replace that straight steering column with a safety steering rack and pinion system. Change brakes to modern power disc brake system. Add seat belts and air bags. The result: a road ready safety equipped classic.

Mark, I was watching a video about a guy that pulled an old 1958 Plymouth two door post out of the woods and got it going and guess what he drug it out of the woods with? A beat up 1968 Charger R/T. Steven King made a small mistake that Furies were not offered in red in '58. The model to get was the Golden Commando package, which was the top of the line of the Fury package. Most people that year went for the Commando package and colour because of what it said, Dayton Beach. You guys know a lot more about this, but my reading is that a red fury like that would have to be custom painted at the factory like that, since dealerships could not offer a Fury in Red yet for 1957 and 58, but Belvederes were offered in Red and White like that. Ever since knowing that, it's all about the Golden Commando with the gold grill, but I do love the film Christine too and it was a big part of my childhood and what got me into cars from that era into the 1970s. I actually like your shows in particular because you do them exactly as stock, which was always my favourite kind of car show, as opposed to customisation, I feels sometimes that is a sad thing historically with cars like that.

For expert classic car restorers, the reinforcement of cabin body and chassis up to today's crash safety standards will increase the safety and value of the car. (Reinforced chassis, body, cabin and doors to make a 5 star classic will start a new category of crash safe modified classics, with seat belts, air bags, low jack, hands free cell phone radio, on star system, and all safety modified crash safe steering systems, led lights, better brakes, suspension, and fuel efficient modified engines and power train). Just imagine a modified 5 star crash safety standard classic with a restored 500,000 miles guaranteed power train. Power, safety and beautiful luxury classic car all in one will make a modern equipped " Christine" a new working talk of the town classic ready for a 21st century show room and movie sequel. A 2024 modified computerized classic "Christine" with live seat belts, air bags, autonomic drive system, carbon monoxide trap, and evil internet media computer will make a horror movie sequel thriller and a show room hit.
