I saw this episode before on television, and it's still awesome! Springfield, Oregon is where the Simpsons cartoon takes place. I still cannot believe that one thousand horsepower Hellapahant engine in Christine is amazing. One thousand horsepower is the same amount of power used in a World War II era end cab diesel railroad yard switching locomotive. A great example is the Electro Motive Division of General Motors NW 2 switcher, which was powered by a EMD 567 powerplant. Christine with the power of a railroad locomotive! AMAZING!!

That is the most beautiful car that has been put together on this show (in my opinion) I would hope in the future you do more cars other than B and E body's. This is truly an American treasure.

The book, the movie, and all of the Christines built since have their own amazing stories. Saw another story about a guy who restored one using parts from other cars and was bullied with his previous car vandalized just like in the movie. Love seeing these beautiful cars with all of the red and chrome shining. Nothing quite like it. These cars seem alive, like they have their own personality.

We in the 57-58 Plymouth community know the stars well lol So glad to hear and see John Fowlie and Fury Jim Rawa were the go to guys. They're the ones I talk to all the time. :) Good folks great times too!! Love these cars. And there are so many out there that need rescuing. Especially at Johns at Big M. People need to also come out to Johns for his annual Pig Roast (customer appreciation party) first weekend of October. I know this year 2022, I'll be out there with my '57 Belvedere.

This car came out so nice! Although they were not building a movie clone, just a look a like, they made one small mistake. On all 1958 Plymouth’s the tire rims were silver. Even John Carpenter’s movie body shop got it right for all the screen used movie cars. Not taking away from this car it is awesome! I wish my ‘58 had this engine!!

When I worked at the Chrysler Jefferson plant, back in the day in Detroit, they didn't give you enough time to get in all the spot welds unless you were super fast like me. And when I was drilling holes, it took me pretending I might let a car go by to get my boss to bring me sharp drill bits. I could put in a few extra spot welds, seemed like a good idea, hope so,

Been with my lady for 33+ years...she has watched Christine with me. I had a 55 chevy and a 66 Chevy II in high school... I am a bit of a car nut... She Just told me, while watching this, when she was 7 years old (sorry) she picked a red and white 58 Belvedere off the show room floor because her parents told her to pick something she liked...She even went over how she pushed the 2speed buttons on the transmission...I feel so betrayed...It's like where were you this whole time...This Whole Time?

There are two things that called my attention from the finished work: 1. is the air filter, blue... I would choose a red one or a chrome stile one. 2. the black top part of the engine... probably painted the same red colour as the body, with a fake chrome paint lines in the squares (like.a grill #) would made that look great... I don't know... all in all the car became beautiful

To answer the question, how did they do it back in the day? I was told at that time in automotive history, you had up 62 assembly line workers on the line assembling cars. Today there are maybe 45 assemblers working on assembling modern day cars.
