It’s amazing how little Tiffany aka my beautiful wife (she’s sitting right next to me 😳) loves these comments about her. Whether it’s about her being at the club with glitter or the backseat of a Camaro . These comments bring joy and happiness to us in the cold January winter. Thank you my friend.

Gotta love those F bodies - I am the original owner of a 75 Firebird Esprit; when I restored it 20 plus years ago, I swapped in a 455 - it certainly does a fine one tire fire. Wish I could say mine was as rattle free as your Camaro - it rattles everywhere.. Then again, it was almost that bad when it was new...70's build quality - no bueno.

Thanks for another awesome video!! I love these old F bodies. I had a 69 SS back in the early 80's & loved it!! I was a stupid 16 year old & sold it & have regretted it! Just a FYI, when I was younger I worked for a transmission shop for 10 years & I'd have people come in complaining about either the front pump seal or tail shaft seal leaking even after they put new ones in. You may already know this, but just in case you didn't most of the time it's because the frt. pump or tail shaft bushing is worn too much. The bushing is what does the majority of the sealing of the transmission fluid. The seals work more as a dust shield keeping things out of the transmission & will catch any residual fluid that gets past the bushing. You always want to check the bushings for excessive wear anytime you see it leaking from either place. Especially the frt. pump bushing because there's nothing worse than having to pull the transmission back out because it's still leaking. Like I said you may have already known that, but just in case you didn't or someone reading this has had this problem, maybe this will help!! Thanks for all of your hard work, plus all of the tips & tricks on repairing these old rigs! I learn something new in every one of your videos & truly appreciate it!! I love the longer videos as you probably can tell by how long this comment ended up being!!😂😂😂

Great job on the seats. Someone is gonna love that Camaro. Did new bucket seat foam last year and after the first hog ring bite, I switched to zip ties and dumped those rings in the trash. Upholstery should be left to the pros!
@robertbourinski828610 ай бұрын
We bought 2009 Mercury last spring. The back seat had a seam that came apart. The upholsterer wanted $300.00 to repair the seat, but only $25.00 if I took the cover off and reinstalled it myself. When I took the seat cover back to be sewn, the upholsterer charged me $20.00 and threw in some hog rings. I had to buy better cutters to remove the hog rings, but I managed to get the cover back on with cheapo hog ring pliers from Lowe’s( the pliers weren’t the best)😁.

Good Morning Mr. Mortske! You and Duff got a great score there with this Camaro! The late 2nd Gens are my favorites out of all the Camaro models. The '74s also had the 'flat' back windows, like the 70 - 73s, but the '74 was the first year with the curved headlight tunnels. There's definitely never any of these for sale at a reasonable price around my part of the world, so you done good getting a good deal on this one. I've been a Camaro guy since I was a teen - my first was a '74. I've had another '74, a '77, an '85, and a '95 over the years, and currently have a 2000. The 4th Gen is my 2nd favorite - they're not very loved, so still fairly affordable. Always on the lookout for a decently priced 2nd Gen, though! Great stuff here!

Good catch on the fan! My neighbor had some family come to McCook for July 4th several years ago. On their way into town, the water pump let loose on their mid 90s Suburban, sending the fan through the radiator. My neighbor, being a BIG derby guy, was able to come up with a radiator and fan, and the replacement parts were installed without problems. Since it was 105°F, they wanted to make sure the A/C worked good. It worked fine as long as the engine was cool, but when the engine was warmed up, no A/C. The engine would get HOT going down the road, even with no A/C. They were looking at the fan clutch when we noticed that since the water pump was driven from the smooth side of the serpentine belt, the pump (and fan) spun opposite of 'normal' rotation. This pushed the air the wrong way through the radiator. The right fan was installed, and life was good again.

Really enjoyed this Camaro rework! And tell Duff Pudden sends his thanks for the gifts he sent to him! He is especially appreciative since there were no thumbs involved on Duffs part. Good thing you’re selling this Camaro Mortski, it’s just to nice a ride for the girls you hang out with.

That front end, which I really like, came into GM style around 76. My dad’s Vega had that front end.

One of the best decisions I ever made was to buy the good hog ring pliers from Sew Fine when I recovered the seats in an old VW bus. Those spring loaded pliers make life so much easier.

Yeh, great find and for the money your asking not bad considering the garage some people put up for sale these days. Like you said, needs to be fined tuned, fix all the weird stuff. I would either put a stock converter back in of driving it more than once a week or if you are a weekend warrior swap out to a big cam, pick your poison.

Here for a rewatch. I am sure Mortske knows but some may not. If you have an open carrier rear end they make a mini posi that you can put in place of the spider gears without having to setup everything. It just bolts in place the spider gears and if you have a decent gearing like this does it is a perfect upgrade.

Sir, with all do respect it’s impossible to hear a critique about a restoration from a man who refuses to even clean, most cars much less do any kind of body work whatsoever. Or talk about rust when he clearly doesn’t repair rust ever at all in any way..lol..🤣🤣🤣💯 I’ve watched this channel for a very long time.. so don’t misinterpret what I’m saying, I enjoy the content sir. Love goes out.

1:24:16 The power steering pulley on my 85 F150 is bent a good 20 degrees. Somehow. Don't know how, was like that when I got the truck in '07. 150,000+ miles on it and it never threw a belt or even ate a belt. V-belts are pretty good about tracking misaligned and damaged pulleys!
