A bank executive bashed and cursed his colleagues on a video call meeting. This was a blatant display of a toxic work environment. Have you been a part of a toxic work culture? Molly Gambhir tells you more.

These employees are not covered under labour laws. These are Bank executives and are part of the management team. This happens due to stiff competition.

Wt to b done ? If they didn't do company will b in loss and all loose jobs . unemployment grows crime increases.. For all problem only one reason , it's over population in low income country. Our people job is only have kids remaining all like raising , school , medicine , house , marriage , food ...so on ...all will should b taken care by govt . If it's not wrong , how come 80+ cr people are taking free ration ..y US has 40cr + ..we are 140+ cr .. This stress is there everywhere.. no pvt job is peaceful.. doing small business is best , like scooter mechanic , small food stalls , similar business ...0 tax , but all govt benefits , some times they earn more but still they are poor because only cash transactions...there are places where he sells tea and cigarette earns more than the people who are buying .(soft). First control population and make everybody accountable..with out registration small road side shop also should nt b allowed . All need to do digital no cash .. if they dnt know they learn , open some training institutes and teach them .,

Toxic work culture is very common in India, it's not just banks but even in schools, corporate, from working insanely long hours to taking bullying from managers. I hope more and more workers will become whistleblowers and expose their employers. Long inhumane hours are very common especially in the IT sector.

It is a form of ragging by seniors , i was made to work with dusty files as junior because none of seniors wanted to .. we asked for change of batch atleast every month but they sat in AC rooms and continued to make us suffer inhaling dust and also expected us to sit in dust 10 to 5, without basic amenities .. they dont care if we live or die... we should be responsible for our lives and put our health and family first .. noone will take care of us or our family, they only want money n ego worship.. also another time i was tortured by senior prying into my personal life, it was like a school, i was told i am not entitled to any Casual leave because i am a probationer, we are all humans and have needs right, people in authority think us as slaves in govt

It is a Global directive. India has been given ownership of service sector and work has to be done as per colonial norms. Just like how China is getting the work done in Manufacturing sector as per colonial norms. Any Government will have to follow this directive. Change in government will not change this work culture. In IT sector the norm is to work for 18 hours min. ; even on weekends. No more weekends, No more holidays, No more sick leaves. Expectation: Once an employee is enrolled into a project, they have to work non-stop like a machine. No time to eat during working hours(15 -18 hrs min). No time to sleep on week days. No time for personal relaxation. No time for Family. No Time for Medical checkup's. No Time for Treatment.

The marketing pressures really tremendous on the ground level employees and the sales executives can't sleep every night. Company wants more profits and they want 15 times more earning of the employees CTC. Pathetic situation!!

Its a normal working culture in corporate for Senior or High Level Managers in India. They keep HR and compliance in pocket. And do what they want. Every organization has such leaders. You can't speak against them if you love your job. Even if you resign you wont complaint about them as you would like to be in good books of the organization. Thats the system thats how it will be unless you have strong labor laws in the country.

Bengal has no work culture. Period. The manager here was not doing anything apart from his daily routine, which is the daily routine of pretty much every manager in any sector in Bengal. Chaatukaritaa is the one and only work ethic here. Lick your boss's boots, you're set. Work hard, follow the rules, you're the worst person to ever set foot in the office and everyone will conspire to get you out of there. I was told I have a "non Bengali work ethic" because i complained of the two year lag in meeting deadlines. Worst place to live and work. We are six cousins, and five of them are out of Calcutta. I was settled outside too, had to comeback due to covid. Will go out again. The only reason this manager has been acted against is because HDFC needs to save face. As soon as this dies down, he'll be promoted for doing a good job.

It is in automobile field sales also. Reputed company having manufacturing in South also did this. The VP in his sales meeting will openly shout and ask embarrassing questions like Why we have to pay you salary? I will throw you out of the job etc and he forces employees to put resignation letters. The owners also know this but they were silent. HR takes his directions and act like goons to terminate the employees without creating any records to safeguard them from law. Labour laws should be strict in India so that employee dignity and respect is restored. Otherwise for making profits, these companies will hire educated goons at the top level who will threaten and abuse these employees. MNCs should run a cultured organization and refrain a system of chaos, intimidation, and slavery.

as a former employee i can say this Kolkata Region VRM and Delhi rohni Branch VRM is most notorious of them. these idiots not only harshass employee by not letting them speak to HR , even HR is dances on instructions of manager and worst part is they scam south indians by letting them have PL on min 20% rate and teling them 12 % flat . these idiots also have call recording then also no step is taken on employees as well as they force employee to suck out the account of customer by calling them again & again.

Problem is like there is no strict auditor who can take up these kind of complains n set strict actions... All is money n job power.. Some people with higher profiles n position they have strong HR n official network. If you complain or raise voice against them they will irritate you in your next job by micromanagement... n the job seeker is ultimate looser.. Either with that tension n job pressure they fight with family or suicide...

HDFC came to limelight. Luckily others are saved. Without management's support, such people wont raise voice. We should stand against such acts and search a place, where people are valued. I am also trying to exit from my job, due to mistreatment.

Its not only HDFC but walk into any office you don't see a red carpet or rose petals. It's time the upper management team undergo some serious changes. The top management needs to learn first how to respect their subordinates. The cha ge should happen from top rather than from down to up......

Actually this is an eye opening example. Not only men women are also very badly harassed in the private sector. No laws are there to protect.

Same happened with me in an MNC my teammates raised voice against a bully team lead the very next day she took everyone on call and abused everyone with threats of destroying their career. People take advantage of weak labor laws in India. People very well know how to abuse their power as no action will be taken against them.

Todays corporate world is filled with third class sales leaders who become ATM machines. Asking tasking machines. They dont give headspace and donot have the skills to find out where motivation comes from in a sales force. The teason being these sales leaders are also led by idiots on the top who grew only by workibg hard in field, not by having inherent qualities of leadership. A great salesman may not necessarily by a great sales leader. However, the bottomline gets promotions on basis of their individual sales perfirmances only . They are not gruelled or inducted through a leadership programme before promoting them. We also have to understand that in a corporate even the national head is an employee. He is not the owner of the company. He just wants to work in the corporate for 3years and move on. Such myopic view stunts their vision to make the company successful. Hence, where their regional targets are not met they become ruthless towards their downline to the extent of ruining the territory . Its a vicious cycle.
