The US is hoping that China will help the west isolate Russia. Moscow is hoping that China will help them evade western sanctions. Has India's neutrality backfired? Will the US & Russia now help India contain China? Palki Sharma tells you.

"India is not easy to predict... their ancient philosophy". That's what Putin said to the media in the presence of Narendra Modi. They both laughed as did everyone at the press conference. Has Non-Alignment served India in a good way in the past or not? Are there compelling and critical reasons for India to take sides from which she can benefit in the long run? America continues to harp on "America First". Let India concentrate on domestic problems of poverty, agriculture, industry, energy, upgraded and advanced defense system first. India should have a comfortable level of self-reliance before poking her nose in major international crises. Don't forget that both the US and Russia are eager to have a good relationship with India.

Imagine if Africa was a single country, but poorer, very few natural resources, and about the same population stuffed in a much smaller landmass. You’d have India. Economic growth will take a very long time and industrialization has little chance of getting far. If India wants to protect itself from China/Pakistan in all aspects, territorial and cultural as well as ecological, it needs to prioritize military strength through whatever means possible.

I as an American understand India's stance on dealing with Russia. We in the USA should not throw stones living in our giant glass houses. But if India is setting itself up to be a leader in world affairs they have to think longterm about not stepping up and stopping Russia's agression. It is Indian's call on how they respond. I wonder how India would be reacting if Trump was in the White House given Modi strong personal bond with Trump? Just throwing out thoughts.

India is doing the wrong thing. This moment was a historic event and the unity of Democracies were supposed to unite together against Russia, And use that United Strength as a warning to Beijing of the United devastating strength that would be coming their way. The reason America WILL come to Taiwans defense outside of it being a Democracy, Is that Taiwan is the only barrier between China and deep ocean water. If China wins Taiwan, they will have the capability of dropping nuclear submarines off the coast of Taiwan, And pop up right on the coast of America and we would never have been able to tell. Right now off their coast we can see all the submarine launches due to it being shallow seas, There are but 2 big powers/wars left, over Russia, and China, I suggest India gets on the right side of history if they wish to be on top after the dust settles.

And this is also why India doesn't have an indigenous vaccine. And India hasn't been able to create much indigenous military hardware (The Indian Brahmos missile is an exception). And India hasn't been able to become a manufacturing powerhouse the same way China was able to. So, India has to buy plenty of things that it can't produce itself. It's not for trying. And India definitely has educational resources to do research and develop minds. But numerous decisions including throwing off cultural shackles and making more of its people better have held India back compared to other countries. Basically, despite today being the most populous country in the world, it doesn't proportionately also educate and create advanced industries and too many people are left as poor and without access to a better life as their grandparents and before.

Because Europe has levied Sanctions on Russia and are on the side of West(U.S), unlike India's neutrality. As for America fears India's indirect relations with Russia and it's soft corner to India. US is pressurizing India to take a stand instead of being neutral. Although in some places even Russia will stay neutral when it comes to China-Ind issues as China has backed Russia and is helping somehow to revive the drowning economy and also not to forget it's ineffective helping measures in evacuating Indians as majority of help was done by the Ukrainian govt to evacuate stranded people. So yes Russia too is hypocrite. America and NATO will only send troops to it's allied countries or participate in war unless some nations threaten American security or its ally nation's and try to launch an attack. The reason for Iraq invasion was terrorism. That is why even though Indian and American trade is boosting over the years it wants India to be on it's side and Capitalist Country always looks opportunity to do business by gathering nations. India being clever will always watch it's move carefully. If dealing with Russia benefits India it should. America if ever changes mind for its own gain, the world has no need to evolve around the same way.

Ukraine sucked up to our government and is now getting bombed into the stone age while most Americans have quit cheerleading and gone back to the life of hedonism that we're accustomed to. Look out for yourselves and please be a positive influence & friend to Russia, the world is in a mob mentality right now and most nations are blindly following the U.S lol as if we have any competent or intelligent people in positions of power that know how to strategize long term for the benefit of public's interest. Americans haven't given up cheerleadering. Some have felt so strong about it that they have gone over as foreign fighters. I don't know about you but every day I hope to see a good story about Ukraine. And if Ukraine hadn't "sucked up" and instead sided with the Russians they would've likely have just become Russians themselves at a faster rate. This was something putin had planned. He's wanted to reform the Soviet union. Even before some Russian tv sources went off the air (Rain) had said that themselves.
