What amazes me is the amount of detail and how the software keeps track of so many items considering when this software was written and the PC power at the time. I used interactive CAD software since 1980 and have some programing skills. It is impressive except for the "User Interface". It could be 100 times easier. Plus a manual that explains all the little details. I'm not sure how some of these KZbinrs navigate the software so easily especially when they do things that are not in the manual. It's a little hard to learn from older videos because the software has been updated over the years. The good with the bad, I guess.

100% agree, there is a lot "under the hood" in terms of modeling, physics, mechanics, and features that you uncover as you play, even after years. Part of the fun they say :) I can only hope that in some years they release a refined sequel or another developer takes the Graviteam idea and runs with it (and has a lot more money/resources to make it at peak modern performance)

I think the software is written by a very small Ukrainian team and they have more to worry about at present. Anyway, supporting them in a small way by buying the software and add-ons. @@CommandaBuckChuck

One cool thing you can do with the trucks which you get from asking for mobility In the reinforcement tab..use them as a screen or use them to develop a communication chain when you don't have a wire just tell them to not shoot at anything. They also work as bait for enemy air assets

Something to note: you set your tanks to use “fire by external designation”. In an ideal world, it would mean the entire squad concentrating fire on a single target using appropriate type of ammo. Unfortunately, in the game, external designation works funny where the type of target isn’t passed and as a result HE is used. You can see green lines going to the target - means the tanks are not firing using own target info. In your case, it may not be as bad: I am not 100% certain, but when a target is visible to the subordinates, they may use direct fire with appropriate ammo as a self defense mechanism

This truly is one of the best RTS WW2 games on the market today, and if there is a better one out there I wish someone would point me to it so I can buy it. I search constantly for something else like this covering other fronts or time periods, but there really isn't anything to compare with this game at this level. I wish Graviteam would import the Americans from TWT43 to this game as a mod. I'd buy it, just to do quick battles on these GTMF maps.

That would be awesome. I love TW because the American units and equipment. In a dream world they could do Graviteam for every theatre of the war, I also have never found a game that does such an amazing job of recreating battles.

This is the best simulation of the east front. Not easy to learn but worth it. If you like Winning don’t play the Germans as they are most always outgunned. The artillery while Realistic is tough to Use.

"Combat Mission" Game is like this , only in smaller formations .. what i would like to have is a Repeat watch function .. because most of the action you miss to look at here

I would LOVE a repeat function. Or a way to capture the battle and move around in time and space, zooming where you please post action and then replaying the moment. Combat Mission is on my list for some day if I ever run out of GT things

What makes you think that 150 meters would be max range? The Mauser 8mm and 7.62 Mosin round are both known to fire out to 300 meters and beyond rather effectively I thought

Maybe you can help. I've been watch this video by Tonci87. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p17QYot5g86SpKs Once in Initial Orders, I can't figure out how to point them in a particular direction after selecting a unit and doing a move/defend command like he does. Timestamp 6:40. I tried all different key/mouse combos but can't get that drag with the green arrow that points them in a facing direction. Any help would be appreciated. Just another one of many many things left out of the manual. 🤦♂😣 Good luck with your channel.

Thank you! So I think the features may have changed from when that video was posted. If you hit the space button and then issue the defense order while holding down your click, you should then be able to drag the mouse in the direction of the defense order. Additionally, you can always use "R" to rotate but it costs some serious command points

I'll give that a try. As far as the "rotate" goes, that just shows a little black arrow. It looks like you can aim the unit but that facing arrow doesn't change. This applies to the initial orders phase only and cost no points. It's just not clear that rotation order will take effect. Thanks.@@CommandaBuckChuck
