But ever since then, we've seen Brannstrom's career take a complete nosedive, going from THREE different teams, and finding himself on waivers with the Vancouver Canucks...

The coaches brannstrom had wanted him to play a game that was against everything he did to get drafted. It was like having a Hughes/Makar type and telling them now you play like a stay at home defenseman. Was never given trust with the puck and chance to work any real pp time or offense zone starts with offensive players. I see him being give a chance to regrow his offensive game in the ahl and brought up later in the season. He was sometimes guilty of trying to do too much with his limited ice time. Vancouver got a sleeper who can still be a top4 guy

I am the world's biggest Branny Truther. Give him an anchor as a partner and let him figure out his puck carrying, it's what got him drafted and then he promptly wasn't allowed to develop it for over 5 years.

Brannstrom was thrown into a position where he was expected to perform on a rebuilding team. For a young player, and especially for a European player, who has to adjust to NHL Ice, it can be an extremely daunting task. He's not being put into a situation where he will be well-coached to succeed. The Canucks management staff are very dialed in on player development and they will not move a guy up to the big club until they are ready. This will give Brannstrom lots of time to adjust with ample ice time in Abbotsford, and you'll see some massive stride in his game this season. We may even see him make the big club toward the end of the year. Also, a major thing to note is that Ottawa isn't exactly known as a player development-friendly place. The old owner was a complete asshat who was extremely cheap.

idk how Brannstrom never changed agents his agent is garbage he sat in Ottawa for 2 years too long and then when the Sens finally let him go he signs in Colorado on 1 of the most stacked dcores in the league where it would already be tough enough to establish himself let alone get any PP time idk what him and his agent are doing just bumbling around and getting pushed around sad to see

Just overhyped imo and never adjusted to the NA game. Got lost in the shuffle in Ottawa. Also even though it was great for the Sens as a team that Jake Sanderson came into the league and was already so good it ruined Brannys last shot as Sanderson quickly took his spot on PP2 and then the Sens had no choice but to make Branny a shut down dman which he became ok at but with his size their wasn't much more room to grow.
