For the series itself, I don't think we need a new season, but a mini-series featuring Stan and Ford travelling the world to find these strange anomalies would be an interesting idea (Prolly calling it Beyond Gravity Falls). Would I want it to come back? Yes, I would love that. But I don't mind the two seasons, since it feels completed, so I'm content with either or.

An idea I had was that you could make a sequel where Dipper takes up Ford's apprenticeship but his condition is that Mabel has to come with him (maybe after his parents have a divorce). After this, it follows the story of Dipper, Mabel, and the two Stan's travelling on the Stan o' War, finding anomalies. It would also be cooler (albeit unrealistic) if all the other characters on the zodiac come along. Maybe you could make a point where Ford wants to bring the zodiac in the case that Bill comes back or something. Really, my only problem with my concept that I came up with is that Dipper and Mabel being apprenticed by Ford undermines the emotional impact of Weirdmaggedon 2.

I think what would be fun is an anthology series similar to Adventure Time Distant Lands, where each episode focuses on a different character. Maybe an episode about Stan's exploits while roaming the country, an episode about Ford in the multiverse, and maybe the final episode could be that episode Alex wanted to make where it focuses on Dipper and Mabel about to leave, and getting teleported back in time to the first day of summer, and maybe end with them returning the next summer, and maybe get another glimpse into Dipper and Mabel's future.

There are two types of Gravity Falls Fans. Ones who want a third season, and those who understand the show enough to know that it doesn't need one (or at least one taking place after the end of the show); The show is partially ABOUT appreciating things not lasting forever. See: Dipper and Mabel vs. the Future. I'm not saying those who want a season three aren't "real fans", but rather that there MIGHT be more they need to understand about the show, to understand what its saying about the brevity of "the good times". Edit: couple minutes after posting I realized there is too much I want to add. I've made so many posts about this EXACT topic and I want to know if the people watching THIS video would want a much much deeper version of this video more focussed how fans interact with the concept of a revival and the themes of the show as a whole.

I feel like part of the magic of gravity falls is the novelty of it all, a small town that’s so weird it’s all just sort of taken for granted by everyone. Realistically, there’s nothing more they could’ve accomplished with these characters immediately. Wendy will keep on being Wendy until she leaves for college or whatever, Soos will keep on being Stan’s successor, and Dipper and Mabel will keep on being the same because there’s really not too much of a difference between the characters from both summers. In order to really be a memorable addition to the universe that adds a level of maturity, I feel like they should build up to the twins turning 16, Wendy and the older crew leaving for college, and having the twins grapple with the fact that the Gravity Falls they know is changing and things they love are ending. It could be cool for them both to find their own paths in the things they enjoy and leave the season with more defined characteristics that set them up for successful adulthood. It would add so much depth and nuance to a potential season 3 if they made the point that good things might end, but better things are coming.

I believe the only character they could develop further is Wendy. The only thing we know about her is that her mother is absent, she acts cool but is constantly stressed, and that she's Dipper's love interest. Nothing more. She's the least fleshed out character of the whole main cast, and I think they can take her character in a better direction.

What I want is a Bill spin off series similar to the Fionna and Cake series. Exploring what happens to Bill after Weirdmageddon. Although we already have the book of bill seizing events even after that book could be really cool . We can see the full process of the axolotl deal, the therapy sessions, his trail for the murder of time baby and what that means for the universe and an episode talking place in the past exploring what happened in Euclidia. A movie would be good too

For Gravity Falls, if it were to return as a TV show I think there's only really 2 options they could do: 1. An Anthonology series This would allow for all the smaller concepts that wouldn't work as a full TV run show the chance to be explored while expanding the universe and lore of the show. With an anthology it would allow for Alex or whoever to be more experimental and the freedom to try different genres along with the animation styles used 2. A sequel set years in the future With the OG series being a coming-of-age story focusing on the wonder of childhood, the mystery of the world, growing up, and family set during the pivitol point of the end of childhood to the teenage years, have a sequel series that parallels these themes with Dipper and Mable being young adults the summer after graduating from highschool being forced into the adult life and world. A mystery such as all the weirdness in Gravity Falls disappearing could bring everyone back also being symbolic of them becoming adults where during their adventures, it could tackle the growing pains of becoming an adult and the struggle of keeping that wonder for the world while trying to find comfort in nostalgia something relatable to the fans who grew up with the show The show could have like a 14+ rating so that there's more leeway to tackle more serious themes while not ending up an edgy mess like Riverdale. More relevant topics for the fans who grew up with the show could be covered and could tie in the books with how Dipper has nightmares of hearing his parents arguing something that came from the book of bill. They could have a plot line where Soos gets married and starts a family where he tries to be the father he didn't have. The tone could be similar to Fiona and cake where it still has the fun antics and goofiness but has the room to have more serious moments that wouldn't necessarily work for a kid audience Bill could still be the antagonist with him returning and them getting rid of him for good or they could do a 180 and have bill be a red herring and have him be a temporary ally with the gang with him still being unhinged but on their side with some greater big bad causing the main issue such as all existence ceasing to exist

I've always imagined a time skip where Mabel and Dipper are older-maybe in high school. Somehow, they find their way back to Gravity Falls, reconnecting with old friends (and foes) while meeting new ones. I’d love to see fresh villains, though it’s hard to top Bill. That said, I’d still want Bill to remain the main big bad-he’s just too awesome and hilarious to leave behind! It would be cool to see him in a more human form too, maybe with a mouth, nose, and a second eyeball, though his iconic Dorito shape is legendary. I’m willing to wait as long as it takes for a comeback, as long as the show retains the same incredible writing and animation quality that made the first two seasons so special. A couple of years ago before cipher hunt I would've agreed with you but the hunt, lost legends and now the book of bill opened up a lot of missed content. (Spoilers) The book even ends with it teasing that Bill Cipher is coming back and could've possibly escaped theraprism. With the end of a bird landing on his hand and a glowy eye indicating that the statue is activating. Unless bill is 100% gone the series won't end. That's why they end it on "see you next summer" they were never planning to 100% ending after weirdmageddon.

I think the best way to go would be to continue the series real-time. So maybe they would have to keep Bill a secret from Stan, since remembrring him would bring him back. A 12+ year time jump later, so in current days Stan would somehow remember Bill, and Season 3 would focus on the characters reuniting, handling new conflicts, solving new mysteries, and aging together with the show's audience. Also, and most importantly: the show should mature with its original audience, pretty much like iCarly did, but I even think they could pull off making it fully adult-oriented and explicit.

Y’know what I think would be fun yet not damaging to the OG show? If they pull a Zootopia plus! Just slice of life mini shorts of side characters that weren’t explored in the show, it’ll be after the whole show happened and we just see bits of what happened after. Like, Pacifa going to high school! Her episode will be cute, she becomes pen pals with Mable somehow. Wendy comes back, we see Rob, all of that. Hell, maybe even the weird whisker guy. All of the stories comes together to a little mystery and we see a wholesome ending. We see Mable and Dipper in highschool, Soos running the mystery shack, Stan and Ford fighting monsters !!😊

I think that a movie is definitely the direction to go. If it were my decision, I'd focus on the multiverse aspect to some extent. It would be a bit dark of a start, but if you showed some of the multiverses where they failed, you could basically do a really quick recap of season 1 and 2 of the show. I'd also use the time to bring in some new main characters to set up a video game, and future spin-off. You can have the original Dipper and Mabel for the movie but if the main story is actually set in a different universe for other future media, then you could have your cake and eat it too whereby you preserve the original story timeline for those who get upset about the potential to "ruin the story' and still have the main cast but with slightly different personalities, or things that have changed them. You can use Bill Cipher to 4th wall-break and set it up similar to Deadpool. I think there's definitely interesting stories to tell based on a world without Mabel and Dipper. They're never portrayed as straight up hero's. They're very flawed but they still have a huge impact on the town and its people - so seeing their absence would be really interesting. The reason I think Gravity Falls worked so well is that you get glimpses of just how huge in scope their overall reality is but it's always kept very local in scope. I think breaking that rule a little with a movie could setup other ways to explore the local in a different way.

Ok, hear me out. What if a new Gravity Falls show did... all of the spinoff ideas? What if they made like an anthology series but each episode is about a character we already know (and maybe new ones?). One episode following Soos antics, one an adventure with the Stans, one a slice of life with Dipper and Mable, a one off Bill adventure, so on. And maybe each episode can somehow give some small piece of a greater mystery that it builds up to. But, two miniseries about Bill Cipher in therapy and Stan & Ford’s adventures on the Stan O’ War II would be great. I would kill for some Bill in therapy shorts. (Could also get an episode of Ford being charged for being an inter dimensional criminal as well, as seen in Lost Legends, where Ford gets stuck in the theraprism for at least an episode and the axolotl does like a group therapy session, bc both of them have stuff to sort out to varying degrees. (Plus, could definitely get some jokes about Ford and the borderline situation-ship he had with Bill, as joked/hinted towards in the Book of Bill). (Then again, this is why handyman Bill Au is one of the biggest AUs in the fandom.) Still, would love either a movie, miniseries, or at least more books down the line.

i think they have 3 choice if they wanna continue or make a prequel, the first one is kinda like Phineas and Ferb, with the A plot and the B plot having Ford be the main focus, but half of the time we get Stan. The story would probably be right after Ford and Stan got into the fight, so we would be able to see how Stan start up Mystery Shack, and maybe get that one deleted episode with Stan and Wendy bonding, while we get Ford traveling thru dimensions fighting off aliens and surviving. Personally this is the one i really want, because it can deepen and establish more of the relationship between Stan and Wendy, and Soos, and we get to see cool alien fights with Ford. The second choice is Bill's backstory, no more explanation needed for that. and the last, but not least, The Tale of Two Stans Pt2 with Stan and Ford going on adventures like the did in the end of the show, and with Soos and his girlfriend taking over the shack, and maybe occasionally we get to see Dipper and Mabel, and some of the ppl in the show, but kinda like Ryder said in this video, it's just gonna have to up what the already perfect show, and i might have to say thats impossible. But any of these would be great, just hoping Alex Hirsch would do something more with the show because i technically grew up with this show (Edit : i commented this halfway into the vid, didnt know he was talking about everything i commented, but my point still stand)

I like the idea of a new season being about the twins going to spend Summer with both Stans on their boat. Maybe they had to get a bigger one which can actually allow for rooms inside. And the series would be about both moving around the world solving paranormal threats and issues while also showing how things have changed. Heck maybe connect the nightmare realm connection to these things and make it a way for Ford to give background on some of his adventures then. But also I love the movie idea. It's simple, clean, has a good way to finally defeat Bill once and for all, and would still give us the chance to see everyone grown and living new lives. A reunion movie would be a great way for one last adventure. The game idea is also neat but I would 100% want an RPG if only for the fun moves and show references in terms of attacks. And it could also have a puzzle solving idea to it as well. But I gotcha on your idea being cool!
